By my estimates, here’s what our non con should look like at this moment:
Ball State (Home, return game) Miami Ohio (home, return game) UT Martin (home, return game) Cincinatti (away, buy game) BYU (away, buy game) Campbell (away, Return game) Bellarmine (away, Return game) Vegas MTE (Opponents currently unknown)
If my assumptions on Campbell and Bellarmine being home and homes from last season are correct, that leaves us with one more opening for a non con game. Hopefully they can manage to get us a home n home with an AAC caliber team like they have the past few years.

With the recent defections, the AAC is basically Conference USA 3.0 Other than SMU, no real interest in a home/home with any of them. I would much rather see a Western KY, SLU or a MAC program fill that spot with a home and home.

Curious why there isn't more outspoken agitation for a game or two with the Screamers. Does USI have an ambitious schedule this year? I would fully expect the women to play them and hope to see the baseball team add USI to its weekday schedule.

I’d take a home n home with any FBS group of 5 program or quality mid major league like the A10. The AAC is gutted but considering the state of our program, I’d still gladly take a home n home with Tulane, Temple, Tulsa, USF, etc. Hopefully they can land us a home n home with a MWC, A10, MAC, CUSA, AAC program instead of an OVC. If I had to bet, it’ll be an OVC home n home to round out the schedule sadly.

With the current non-conference slate of 11 games, 3 at a tournament, I would like to see 4 home, 4 away against D1 opponents. If we were more in a position of program strength and with higher attendance than maybe more at home, but I don't see it barring regular season invites to Oakland City and DePauw. I don't mind buy road games against name opponents, but realistically that means some buy home games against whoever is willing. Last year's 3 NC home games seemed a little lacking. WKU home/home and continued Ball St home/ home would be priorities for me.

I would like to skip USI for a few years. Let's expand our recruiting footprint by playing against some more regional mid majors like Middle Tennessee State, Austin Peay, Oakland (MI), UW-Milwaukee, Arkansas State, or Arkansas-Little Rock

Don’t want to go through a year of Anthony’s tweets to find that one.

Nothing definitively saying it was a buy game but the note that Miami and Ball State are Home n homes make me suspect you may be right about Campbell. I forgot we were rumored to be playing Coastal last season. I wonder if those talks completely died or if they could appear on the schedule this year?

We're in a better conference, so we don't gain anything from beating them. It'd be their Super Bowl!!! No need for that game, IMHO. I wouldn't be there this year anyway, as I cannot believe they're keeping Bobe on their roster. I cannot support that, especially as a scholarship player. Go Aces.

The Cincinnati game will be tough obviously as they recruit talent and athleticism that is above us. For example, they got the #16 ranked player in the transfer portal from Utah Valley State who is 7’0” and averaged a double/double and 2.9 blocks a game. Before his break out of season last year, he was at Akron and one of the guys likely ahead of Sekou on the depth chart. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/37693873/utah-valley-transfer-aziz-bandaogo-commits-cincinnatiNot to mention that Cincinnati has two top 100 guys coming in and several transfers from quality schools. So we will have our work cut out for us in this game.

Good for Illinois state. Maybe there’s hope for us having a SLU series once we get back in the 100-200 range in most rankings.

I received confirmation from Anthony this afternoon. Campbell was a buy and is not on the schedule for this year.

I wouldn't be there this year anyway, as I cannot believe they're keeping Bobe on their roster. I cannot support that, especially as a scholarship player. Go Aces. In my opinion Playing UE would not be USI's Super Bowl. Even when they were D2 they usually played big name opponents in exhibitions. Quite the contrary, USI has to be wishing they could have played against UE last year. Give credit when it's due. they went 2-0 against the Valley (one more than we did in 21 tries) beating ISU and SIU, both of whom were upper tier Valley teams and collectively spanked us hard 4 out of 5 games (game at SIU was relatively close, still a loss). I think USI has to return both games, and if there have been discussions with UE and UE is insisting to have game at Ford, then USI may not want to play 3 Valley road games... especially with a fresh roster and the unknowns that come with it. They need more home games most likely. Can't see Rags wanting to play at USI this year, another road game and their arena is a Pit to boot. I mean that as a compliment to them. Close seating and loud. USI may feel that after last year they've flat earned a home game against UE to start the series. I predict this series starts the following season at the earliest. Pure speculation on my part, no inside information whatsoever.
