$ could be making it's way to the UE players. I am under the impression that nobody has to disclose any info about a payment. A wealthy booster could pay a talented player for a NIL agreement, and the booster may never use it.

A wealthy booster could pay a talented player for a NIL agreement, and the booster may never use it. That is true. Just wish there was a little more marketing & outreach to the fans about it, but I guess if they’ve got money secured from the big fish, the people that need to know, already know. They haven’t posted much on X about it, but they did post on instagram recently about the launch of their website. It’s a pretty well put together website and allows anyone to donate directly to the collective or sign up for recurring donations. trueloyalnil.com/

I can see this working in football, but for basketball I believe taking mid-majors out of the March Madness equation will hurt the tournament. The first 2 weekends and Cinderella stories is what people love about the process of getting to the Final Four. Wish there was a way to avoid seeing the "rich get richer" and a method put in place where smaller schools can have some type of revenue sharing from the big schools. Just saw this from ISUs collective today. Ours has only posted on social media once, so I’m not sure if our players are getting anything, but we might need to make friends with Kenny Kent if we’re going to hang on to all our talented pieces this off-season lol Wow, things have changed so much, and I'm not a fan of it. This kind of stuff use to get schools the "Death Penalty." I never thought the NCAA would go in this direction. Watch the movie "Blue Chips" that should help people remember how things were done in the old days. These things are sad days for college athletics as a whole. I'm really intrigued why you think a college kid getting hooked up with a car lease is a sad day for college athletics? I think it is great.

Since Ron Romain sits on the USI board, have Buicks started showing up out there?
It would be nice as a fan to know we aren't getting outpaced, but maybe somethings are best off the radar. No idea.

I sure hope his valuations are off. Hard to think we can afford all of that I thought that international players would have a hard time obtaining income on a student visa? (Unless an American adopted them immediately before their 18th birthday 🤔)

Great...another Marcus tweet we can all try to read between the lines on. Sounds like he may be signaling "his recruits" to explore the market.
With that, I do think he is right regardless. If we want to keep these guys, we need to be prepared to get them off the table.

And this is what really sucks about NIL deals, especially for small private schools. It puts a bad taste in my mouth as I read this message from Marcus--donate to the "collective" or else.

Marcus is 100% correct. We will not be able to pay for the players to stay when they have $ waving in front of them. And I can't blame them.

Marcus’ comments may or may not be accurate. But why is he putting it out there? It looks like he’s trying to stir things up. I’m sure it doesn’t sit well with the staff. I was thrilled when he came back to coach but since he left it has just been weird.

Luckily, if the NCAA sticks to the one time transfer rule, Ben & Cuff can’t transfer again without graduating from UE first.
Josh can’t get NIL without being granted a different Visa, which is possible, but not convenient or easy.
CB3 could be gone, but if the NCAA sticks to one time transfer, I would personally accept a smaller NIL deal from UE & hold out one more year then transfer for a much more lucrative deal after being first or second team All MVC next season.
If the NCAA loses the lawsuit and goes with unlimited transfers (which seems like it could be likely), then we don’t stand a chance to retain all our good players every year without some major booster contributions to NIL. Even then it will be a major challenge to compete against the highest bidder for talent.
Luckily, it’s a problem that will affect every MVC school, and our coaches have shown the ability to find talented players at every level of the game, so I like our ability to retool the roster every year to remain competitive, but I’d much rather prefer some roster continuity.

I sure hope his valuations are off. Hard to think we can afford all of that The more Wilson tweets the more I dislike him. He has become a Karen and a malignant cancer to the Aces program. His robust hurt-butt attitude sickens me. The Aces were wise to show him the door. He has become as bad as Deandre William's agent/handler. Attaching monetary value to important Aces players can and will (by some) be seen as him hoping to boost and rescue the program by encouraging donations. Except, Wilson is smart. He knows that this fan base doesn't have the coin to compete with schools 10+ times the size. In a bidding war, we lose. If he can nudge the heart of the team into leaving, Wilson will get the pound of flesh from Ziggy, Rags and Snow that he so desperately desires. How much do you think Wilson has donated to keep those players at UE? Not a penny would be my educated guess. The legend has become an albatross.
