Even if Sisley wanted to come back, he wouldn't be able to help the Aces next season. He used his one time transfer with immediate eligibility. Players can't transfer again without sitting out unless doing so as a grad transfer. He would have to sit out next season. He's moved on, and so has UE. I never really thought anybody took that comment seriously considering how it was written.

Yes, it should. Why do we want some kid who runs from the program? I mean, he could have stayed and had ample playing time here. He chose to leave. He doesn't deserve the privilege of wearing a UE uniform. Oh, and by the way, I think his little brother is going to be a bust if he goes to a P5 school. He'd be best served in a mid-major program. To be fair, he bailed on Lickliter, not necessarily the program. Is there a limit on the number of times you can transfer without penalty? Supposed to only get one free transfer, but there’s tons of examples of people getting immediate eligibility multiple times. NCAA hands waivers out like candy. He could likely say he wanted to be closer to home and they’d grant him one. I don’t think that’s an issue, but it’s probably pretty unlikely he would come back. I’d welcome him back with open arms though. He bailed on an athletic department with no leadership and no direction and a lame duck coach that all the fans hated. Can’t say I blame him one bit for wanting to get out of that situation. I also disagree on him not being an impact player. I think he’s All MVC caliber player by his senior year with the right coaching and development. I’m not sure his play style fits what Rags wants to do though. This is all meaningless hypothetical discussion until he puts his name in the portal again though, and idk that that will happen, even though he is buried on the depth chart by players in his own class or below him.

I never really thought it was useful to pursue this topic beyond the yuk-yuk of it but, yeah ... I think Sisley still fits into that Covid envelope that he could use to bargain his way out of jail. I do think this is the sort of player we will be seeing more and more coming through the Portal in this range of basketball. This becomes a matter of a guy fitting a system. As to whether Sisley would have gotten significant PT under Ragland, as it turned out -- hell anybody who was warm at the end could have gotten a few shots off. To be honest, if he did come back to UE, even if he had to sit out a year, I think it would speak to recruits that Ragland is the man that players want to play for. Either that, or the guy at Wright State is NOT the guy you wanna play for, even after you leave a real bad program.

Here's a guy we should get. He probably would come if we called.

Here's a guy we should get. He probably would come if we called. These are the kind of players we should be trying to get. Look to kids who are in big time programs unhappy with playing time.

We should go after Doctor because of his name alone.

We should go after Doctor because of his name alone. Precisely the point and none other. I don't know if the guy is (a.) unhappy or (b.) any good. I know he is at NMSU, which has no coach and no immediate future. I have to believe they can fix their program if not their insane administration. But anybody named Doctor Bradley is worth a risk. You need it fixed? Call the Doctor.

Just think of the headlines Anthony could come up when we play Bradley. I was just doing a glean on their roster, trying to decide if they had anybody who might stick around to rescue that program. I thought at first it was a nickname, such as Stretch Wilson or Bulldog Mulligan. Evidently "Doctor" is his name. There are weirder names, but this guy -- just looking at his stats -- appears to have at least some talent. Wondering if the new coach can keep these guys. If they plan to have a team, they are in a tougher spot than UE was ... and they are planning to join CUSA, which is a much tougher conference. This is gonna be a very interesting summer for at least 2 basketball teams in America.

Murray State surprisingly beat us to the first announced departure. Is there a template these guys use on these announcements, or a website such as enteringtheportal.com? I swear everyone of these say the same thing. (Insert School Name Here)

So Jamari Smith already had a better offer. Poaching players has always been an art form. Now it's workaday NIL recruiting. I seriously doubt UE will conjure up the cash to go after game-changers. For those who keep hoping the mid-majors survive this, yeah ... if you think it's bad now, finding a cohesive team will be a matter of, the only thing we have in common is the lot where we park our cars.
