Rienk Mast has 20 points in the first half for Bradley. It seems like most of the Valley teams find one like him and they keep showing up. UE needs to find a Mast type of player at 6-9 240 who is solid and has game. I miss the days watching Matt Webster be that guy for UE! That's exactly the type of guy we need again....bang in the low post, play with intense passion, step out and hit the 3 from the top of the key on pick and roll, and willing to set bone-jarring screens.

I will throw out a name: Connor Turnbull who plays at Butler and I believe was recruited by Rags. I believe he entered the portal last year after their coaching change and then returned to Butler. If Rags had been hired sooner we likely would have had a decent shot at him. Not sure of his “happiness” status at Butler but would hope that he would give us a look if he is looking for more playing time. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/gamelog/_/id/5105573/connor-turnbullHe is 6’10 and had offers from four other programs other than Butler: Missouri, Kansas State, Saint Louis and Indiana State. In high school: The Missouri all-state selection led Fort Zumwalt North to its first Class 6 final four and a 27-4 record. He averaged 15 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, shooting 35% on 3-pointers…I also see that his senior year that he had one game where he had 34 points, 17 rebounds and 14 blocks.

Been wondering about him too… I think he has a shot at more playing time at butler next year, but I would love to add him to our team. He would be our best player for sure. He’s had some great highlights in his limited PT at butler and appears to be able to play inside and shoot the 3. Probably a pipe dream to ever see him in purple, but we can hope!

Larry dropping common sense truth bombs as usual. The nice guys finish last mantra is true in athletics today and it was true 50 years ago. I I don’t know about you guys, but I’m tired of losing. Tired of hearing about the Bobe’s of the world saying we were late on our rotations over and over again. You know what, fix it then or go play for Little Sisters of the Poor.

Most Connor has played in any game this season is 14 minutes, and has only played in one other game for 10 minutes. All other games have been just a few minutes, and I am only seeing one big that is definitely gone after this season for them. There could be a real possibility he jumps when Butler’s season ends in a week or so. And that could give us another big that we can build on. I promise, I really do not have a crystal ball.

Hell, I'd be happy to see Blake Sisley come back home, but lord-nose, he isn't the answer either. A beast in the middle is coveted by everybody so a good one has to make some pretty serious decisions. I'd settle for some quickness from players who honestly see a 3-on-1 fast break as something other than a bulldog drive down the lane in quest of an ESPN announcer scream about 'ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD ONE!'
Nobody needs to dribble this damned much now and if that's all ya got, it's no wonder the shooters can't get an open look. Defenders are in no hurry to double-team a guy who thinks he's still at the YMCA. You don't need super talent to win. You need players who recognize the difference between a good pass and a good shot.

I hope you are right. Adding him and some solid PG play and we would be ready to compete in the middle of the pack in the MVC next year imo.

Barely played and never shot 3s. Not sure he fits what Rags is looking for but I’d love to see him come back and be a stretch 4 for us

Not sure he fits what Rags is looking for but I’d love to see him come back and be a stretch 4 for us Sisley is 2 things that some returners are not -- first off, he's not a walk-on and he has 2 years of experience. I forget what the other thing is, but there is a need for roster depth. The ability to play would have maybe netted them a couple of wins -- at Valpo and against UIC and Mo State -- that isn't a lot but it gets them the 10 or 11 seed. That's a different opponent. Roster depth in a competitive league should never be overstated. Some of the Aces this year should be roster depth, not starting lineup. That is where a recruiting project begins -- and it should be up to walkons to beat out other players for game time, which is what Bobe did. I seriously doubt Bobe would beat out Sisley for court minutes. And while we're at it, Bobe even beat out Beauchamp. WThF.

We need 5 to 6 players that can flat out shoot the ball.

Yes, it should. Why do we want some kid who runs from the program? I mean, he could have stayed and had ample playing time here. He chose to leave. He doesn't deserve the privilege of wearing a UE uniform. Oh, and by the way, I think his little brother is going to be a bust if he goes to a P5 school. He'd be best served in a mid-major program.

To be fair, he bailed on Lickliter, not necessarily the program. Is there a limit on the number of times you can transfer without penalty?

Even if Sisley wanted to come back, he wouldn't be able to help the Aces next season. He used his one time transfer with immediate eligibility. Players can't transfer again without sitting out unless doing so as a grad transfer. He would have to sit out next season. He's moved on, and so has UE.
