Anthony has been knocking it out of the park since he arrived. I agree he is worth the subscription, and frankly, the only reason I still have one. You can tell he is a big sports fan, and truly interested in what he is covering. Throws in humor and personality without it going overboard and mean like that clown at Missouri State. With Todd Golden out, you could already make a case for him being the best beat writer in the league. I was concerned when Chad got promoted, but he made a great hire. My only comparison complaint would be that Chad would drop in here from time to time and I don't believe Anthony has posted here. C'mon man, the door is open. Referencing my post from November. Took you a bit, but glad you are here.

Appreciate the kind words. As always, if you guys ever have any story ideas or anything of the sort, drop me a message on Twitter or in my email and I'll be sure to look into it. Anthony, I've got a story idea for you ... how about discussing the most active, detail oriented, research delving (see AustinAce's great pre-game synopsis), varied opinion making, highly loyal, closely refereed (see E-villan), recruit watching (see StlScooter, AceLoverLarry) best fan forum in the MVC ... the Purple Ace Place! For the most part, everyone on here is a huge Aces fan/alum who is starving for UE to once again become a consistently prominent competitor in the Midwest.
You'll find young and old (probably a lot more of the old!) on here who share ideas, opinions (yeah, quite a few different ones at times), and stories about the great Aces teams and players they remember. I've found that there are guys and gals on here who are from all parts of the country, with all kinds of backgrounds, who still closely follow the program from afar. We also have spirited, competitive game prediction contests, too (thank you to Tom Servo, Ad1770, and E-villan) ... sometimes with a lot of trash talk involved!
For me personally, I always enjoy reading all the team info, and seeing the different viewpoints and ideas that come up in our discussions. From looking over the fan boards of other teams we play on our schedule from year to year, I would think our fan forum has to be one of the most organized, highly active and involved mid-major fan groups out there.

Hi guys. I just wanted to thank everyone for interacting and helping make this season and this job a lot of fun and say it's been a pleasure to cover the team and tell some stories about the guys and coaches. I've got some offseason coverage planned and will obviously cover news as it comes. As always, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any story ideas. Thanks again for helping to make my first season out of school memorable.

Or do a story on the Heartland Collegiate conference. A lot of people think football was the only sport UE was in on the Heartland Collegiate conference but the Heartland Collegiate has baseball, golf, tennis, wrestling and cross country. I do not live in Evansville anymore so I do not know if Jim Byers still lives in Evansville but Jim would be a good source for these topics.

Indirectly related to Aces basketball as Anthony is out and about sharing with MVJHS kids about a career as a beat writer:
