Anthony announced Saturday will be his final day at the Courier. Gonna miss him, he’s been such a great beat. Wish him nothing but the best, but absolutely selfishly wish he could stick around.

He did a hell of a job. The only reason I kept a subscription.

Hi, everyone. I just wanted to hop on here and thank you all for following along and being so welcoming from the moment I started on the beat. I've thoroughly enjoyed covering all the teams here in town and will definitely miss that. The relationships I've build here have been incredible and makes it very difficult to say goodbye. I'm sure I'll pop back into Evansville from time to time whenever I get the chance, and I may jump on this board again whenever I get the chance haha. Part of the reason this job was so great for me was the incredible following for all of the different teams I've covered. I cannot thank you all enough for making this the perfect place for me to start my career.
Thank you again for being so welcoming to a goofball who just graduated college and for all the messages, feedback and comments throughout my time here. I've grown as a writer, reporter and person in so many ways since I started here, and all of you and the rest of the readership and fanbases have been a huge part of that. Thanks for everything!

Wondering who is going to replace Anthony on the beat. Great question. Pretty sure somebody will have to work double time till they hire someone in the meantime.

Great article by Anthony. I did notice a couple of corrections though:
1. “…After finishing last season at No. 352 in KenPom, Evansville rose as high as 161 and will likely finish in the high-200s...”
I think he meant to say low-200s as they are currently 202 in the NET ratings and 206 in the KenPom ratings.
2. “…there was tangible progress in year two, with a potential CBI bid still in the air...”
There definitely was tangible progress in two, but as posted in the “Postseason?” thread it appears that you have to have a winning record to get a CBI bid per the articles posted (one by Anthony himself a year ago on USI’s CBI bid).
I have always appreciated Anthony’s articles and this one definitely puts UE and our program in a positive light. Always good to get positive publicity.
