…Haven’t gotten a chance to listen, but noticed in the summary notes it mentions UC Santa Barbara and CSU recruiting him, but not us. If anyone takes the time to listen, let us know if he discusses UE at all. Thanks for sharing. Evansville is definitely still in the mix. It’s about a 26 minute interview and 10 minutes in they start talking about his recruiting and about the 12 minute mark they talk about Evansville quite a bit and actually more than any other college. He mentioned that he plans to make a college decision by the end of September/Octoberish. He has gone a non-traditional route and has decided this year that he’s going to play public high school ball which I presume he hasn’t really done much of. So he’s excited about that. The interviewer describes him as one of the best players in New Mexico, if not the best. The interviewer and his trainer compare him to JJ Redick and others like Tyler Herro, etc. Supposedly last year, he averaged 15/4/6. Presume that is 15 points and four rebounds and six assists but not 100% on the order of the last two numbers. He’s 6’6” and concentrated last year on hitting the weight room and putting on weight (among other things) as he says he weighs 170 now and only weighed 145 presumably the year before. So he definitely has got game and can shoot and handle the ball but probably could/needs to pack on a few more pounds. He has some pretty big college aspirations like being freshman of the year, making first team all conference, going to the dance, etc. He figures a lot of those goals will fall into place if his team wins. He would be a great get for us. Very hopeful that he feels the same way and we are a great fit for him as well.

From what I heard on the interview, Dylan still has a lot of interest in UE. He mentioned that he and his mom felt "at home" on the UE visit. He mentioned the family feel at UE, the positive relationship he has with our coaching staff, and that it didn't matter to him how big the school was, or where it was at. He just wants to make an impact and win. Dylan sounds like he has clear goals in mind, along with the confidence in his abilities. He's very articulate.
Sure sounds encouraging! Ziggy's "giant" may be waking up sooner than we think. We shall see.

Definitely good to hear him say that he committed to NMSU because he was being recruited directly by the HC and felt like family there then follow it up by saying that he’s tight with Rags and Evansville had a family feel. I like our chances. Hopefully we’ll get some good news in September once he takes his other visits

The schools that he mentions are recruiting him are:
Evansville Air Force Colorado State Santa Barbara
He mentions that he has an official visit with Air Force coming up. And that he also is going out to Colorado State and Santa Barbara soon. I presume those last two are unofficial visits. So if he’s making a decision as early as the end of September, it goes to reason that his last visit would be by then. So that is three visits that we know of in the next month and a half for him before he makes a decision.
Update: For the record he does have other standing D1 offers from schools like Weber State, Montana State, New Mexico State, Western New Mexico, etc. But they don’t seem to be in the mix now.

Will be announcing his college decision on Thursday at 4pm our time per his twitter account. Saw he recently picked up an offer from Air Force as well.

I bet he doesn't pick us. Hope I am wrong. I think we need to play really good (D1) caliber athletes to start landing the better recruits. UE is heading in the right direction. It's going to be a good ride on the next 3-4 years.

I can’t tell you if he will pick us but I think that we have a decent shot. He visited last September (a year ago) on the same day that Michael Day visited. He spoke highly of his visit and that UE was at the top of his list (last year). Fingers crossed. We will find out in less than 48 hours.

I follow him on X and Instagram, I haven't seen that he has taken any visits to any schools that he has mentioned (having interest in him). He mentioned on that podcast that he was going to make visits to Air Force and CSU. His Air Force offer announcement lined up with the timeline he mentioned on making a visit so I think it’s safe to assume he made the visit and got the offer in the same weekend. It has me feeling a little pessimistic that he did not make a senior year visit back to UE. I didn’t go through the college recruiting process, but I would think building relationships with future team mates on the visit can be just as big of a factor as seeing the campus, facilities, etc, and there is hardly anyone left from when he made his OV. Hopefully we get a nice surprise Thursday, but my gut is telling me he’ll commit to a west coast school again.

I have a feeling that Dylan will commit to New Mexico now. Hope I'm wrong.

http://instagram.com/p/CxvnUtIRluw Just saw this instagram post from an NIL agency he’s signed with. Says his goal is to get an aviation degree in college. I’d say well be seeing an announcement for Air Force tomorrows based on that. Hard to win a recruitment when you can’t offer programs that line up with their life aspirations. Best of luck to Dylan wherever he ends up
