The problem w/ Linton Coach Hart didn't just appear over night and there's no magical cure. Hart Jr. stated in his Tweet that his decision was based on "changing conditions," most likely referencing the Wichita State & UMKC scorers brought in by UCF HC Johny Dawkins.Hart wants to play, not sit on a bench. Why would a player reopen his recruiting based on the coach adding two players. He doesn't have any idea on how he stacks up to them until he plays against them.

The chances of him playing for us (if he came here) would be really good. Obviously he would have to earn a starting position though.
I likely would have to increase my projections on wins if he choose UE. I think it would be a win-win situation for him and us.
We would have an even better nucleus of players to build on if he choose us. The guards and wings would be solid. Our bigs would have skills but might be a little raw and lanky; but this would be a much better team than last year. Basically we returned the starters (minus Marvin) and upgraded all of the other positions.
Joey needs to make the right decision for him but I selfishly hope he chooses us and is a huge part of turning our program around and getting back to the dance.

He would definitely be a key player in the Aces rebuild.

Unless someone has inside info, we are all simply taking a wild guess at why JH decided to reopen his recruiting.
Paradeuce's theory is based upon the 2 players UCF added each played 30+ minutes at their previous schools, one avg 17ppg and the other 14ppg at the SG position. As a Freshman coming in, that is tough to compete against if you are looking for immediate playing time.
Another theory could be related to NIL money that was promised but did not materialize.

Your comment re: NIL $$$ by UCF might've hit the nail...
The "World of the Mouse" is being forced by the State of FL to pay their "fair share" in taxes now, which likely impacts the cash flow to various Big "O" entities like UCF. The Mouse is now on a restricted calorie diet...and the trickle down will be impacting all of Central Florida.

My money is still on the mouse. But if mouse related shrinking NIL dollars are the reason Joey Hart left UCF, we can stop dreaming about him here.

Not a lot of discussion of this on the ISU thread. No dedicated thread on him just a mention of his UCF release on the general thread. Correction: Had to dig a little bit but they do have a recruiting thread on him with quite a bit of discussion: sycamorepride.com/threads/23-in-sg-joey-hart.41888/They do have a spot open but there is mixed feelings on whether they want him. Evidently they have a need for a stretch four or five and already have a 6’6” freshman Eli Shetler that is similar to Joey coming in. Others are like how can you pass on a local kid who was an Indiana all-star.

Looking at the original post on this thread and I believe that our staff offered Joey the first week after Rags was hired. That has to be worth something. He definitely should know how much our staff values him and want him to be a part of our program.

We really need to come through with this one. I hope he remembers that we were interested in him since the beginning.

Based on our recent offer and visit of Gui Tesch, I’m going to assume that Joey has told the staff he’s not interested after reopening his recruitment.
