Not a lot of discussion of this on the ISU thread. No dedicated thread on him just a mention of his UCF release on the general thread.

Hopefully he seriously considers us because he would be a day 1 starter and be able to fully show his talents. I hope he comes here as well like everyone else. I think he would have a good shot at being a Day 1 starter and would definitely be in the rotation. However I wouldn’t go so far that he is a guaranteed day one starter with the following guards on the roster: Bailey Strawbridge Thomas Haffner Jackson The trio of Kenny, Chuck and Cam are probably his biggest competiton for starting at the 2 or 3. (And no not Gage as he should be coming off the bench with the upgrade of talent in the backcourt.)

I think Joey is likely a better player than Chuck Bailey. 247 has him rated higher and from what I’ve seen of watching Joey live and watching Chucks highlights, I think there’s a good chance Joey will be the better player. Either way, it would be great to have both on the roster and both would be huge building blocks for the future with large immediate roles.

I said a year ago when Joey was offered by UE he would be a star for the Aces. My opinion has not changed. He will be an impact player in the Valley.
I am glad we still have a scholarship open and I hope we get word that Joey has committed to UE. With Joey and Bailey in our backcourt along with the other guards we have in the fold, the Aces will be in the position to make a lot of noise in the Valley next year.

I don't know who will be better but agree with your last sentence. I agree that Chuck and Joey are rated roughly around the same - presuming you are looking at the 85 rating (for Chuck) versus the 88 rating for Joey. 247ESPN ratings | Chuck Bailey III 6-3 185 CG | Joey Hart 6-4 180 SG | - 3 star

Joey Hart 247SportsChuck Bailey III 247Sports Their rankings are a Little confusing on what’s what with the 247 composite and 247 ranking, but if you click on the Indiana rankings, it shows Joey ranked as 179 nationally, which I think is the 247 only ranking and not the composite (composite compiles all ranking services and averages). I think 247 has a reputation of being the most “accurate” (if there is such a thing) ranking service. Regardless, both are going to be studs and I hope we can make a strong push for Joey as well. If we can’t sign him, I really hope we don’t lose him to an MVC foe.

Thanks, Larry for the clarification. I personally consider the composite ESPN 247 rating potentially more accurate since it is takes an average of the major ranking services. But they are all really just somebody's best guess. They are definitely all subjective in the end.

Hart would be a phenomenal pick up for UE. He is a nice size guard with a beautiful stroke. If Rags can get the chance to snag this kid I hope he doesn’t bat an eye. Regardless of what position you need, sometimes you just jump on the best player available.

Saw on an IU message board some fans advocating for IU to recruit him. Feeling is that he’s very underrated. Come to UE though and be a big fish in a small pond imo. Joey could be a legend here.

If I was him, I’d go to a school like UE for 2-3 years then transfer up after proving myself at the midmajor level. I’d personally hate to be an Anthony Leal and spend my career on the bench when I could likely be averaging 15 ppg in a league like the MVC.

I believe one reason why Joey left central Florida because he his father who was his High School coach got in some trouble. He got released from being the head coach like a week before the State Championship game.So I'm sure Joey wants to be closer to his family to help his dad's situation out.

The problem w/ Linton Coach Hart didn't just appear over night and there's no magical cure. Hart Jr. stated in his Tweet that his decision was based on "changing conditions," most likely referencing the Wichita State & UMKC scorers brought in by UCF HC Johny Dawkins.Hart wants to play, not sit on a bench.
