In my humble opinion, it would be a catastrophe of epic proportions, and a real failure for Marcus if we somehow don't get Bol to UE. It's very seldom that you don't see a son follow his father to the team his father is coaching. I wouldn’t go that far. The kid came from nothing and going to UE over a P5 presents legitimate risks to his draft stock. I wouldn’t blame him one bit for wanting to get more NIL money to go P5 while also hopefully improving his draft stock due to the perception of the opponents. Marcus is also not his biological father so it’s a lot different than other players that have gone to play for their dad. Marcus has only known the guy for 3 years instead of having the lifelong bond of a real father. He’s still done a lot for him and I’m sure they have a great relationship that will significantly help us, but it’s not your typical father son relationship. I understand what you are saying, but Rags says he can get everything he wants at UE.

not sure you have enough facts to state the father-son relationship is different with Bol. Did he know and was raised by his biological father, Maybe he didn't know or was raised b him? Just maybe Marcus is the only father-son relationship he's had?

Some kids just want to prove that they can live independently of their parents and make their own way. Doesn’t mean they don’t have a good relationship with their parents/guardians.

In less than 24 hours, that tweet he put out is just about already his most interacted with post he's put out. Great job aces fans, we're making our presence felt

I think all the posters microanalyzing the father son relationship and making statements that may or may not be true should stop. We know that Marcus visits this site and it would be terrible if he takes offense to sone of these posts. I am elated that we have offered him and he has already made an unofficial visit. Let it run its course and hopefully he will choose us. Just be happy that we are involved with this type of player - would never have happened with prior program. Marcus will definitely have considerable influence on that decision. Go Aces!

I’m sure they have a great father son relationship and it will play in our favor, but I don’t think we should hold Marcus accountable if John does not choose to join him at UE.

How often do we get a real chance to get a 4 or 5 star player? It would be heartbreaking not to, especially with the relationship that they have.

I agree. If Marcus can influence the decision in our favor - great! If he chooses to go elsewhere Marcus will continue to be the great coach that we all expect and should not be held accountable. Stay tuned!

You have to think that the P5 schools are going to make a strong push for him and already are. So, he will be under intense pressure to go to a big-time school with prestige and incredible NIL deals. But at the same time, I would think that he would feel more comfortable at a smaller school (and less pressure) where his guardian is an assistant coach and hopefully he already knows and has bonded with the players. It could be a huge win for both him and us. Only time will tell. Either way, John needs to do what is best for him (or what he feels is best for him).
