University of Evansville men's basketball signs three new Aces as roster rebuild continuesThese three freshman guards seem to have some size and versatility. They also seem to be pretty good defenders. Over time they definitely have promise. How much impact they can have as freshman is to be determined as they will be going up against players that may be four years older (with fifth year seniors). Definitely need a veteran point guard from the portal and one (or more) quality "true" big man. Chad thinks most of the rest of the roster will be comprised of transfers. Anybody know what our chances are of getting Dylan Penn here as a point guard. He is a grad transfer (Bellarmine) and went to Memorial High School down the street. Here is his recruiting thread on this site. Also noteworthy was the last sentence of the article: "Walk-on Gage Bobe, who broke his foot since the season ended, is the only player remaining from the team Lickliter inherited."

I wonder if the staff is looking at other D2 players like Ragsdale. Case in point, if what I am reading is accurate, there is a 6-10 power forward from St. Michaels college in VT, who ave. 20/10 last season, and he just entered the portal.. This guy appears to be a very good student, mas well as a VERY good D2:player. Are we casting a big enough net to reach out to him??
A BIG like this could make an enormous difference next year.

If they don’t have a file on EVERY player in the portal within 24hrs; it’s a reason to fire Lick for cause

I am sure they are checking everyone in the portal a lot more closely than we are. A couple of key recruits could possibly save their jobs.

Eric Reed pg from SEMO in the portal. Would be a great pg addition. Are we in on him?

There are a lot of point guards available. I’m sure UE coaches have made contact with many of them.

We can only hope because there’s little evidence of it. Guys on this board are watching verbal commits, checking out twitter, etc. if it was happening, we would pick up on a lot more activity. No, the people on acesplace are not sleuths who will find every nugget, but seriously, all you have to do is follow the crumbs.
I wish there was evidence of some sort of “war room” to identify and offer some of these talented kids….maybe others know of it. Would be more reassuring if we knew there was an organized recruiting effort.

As someone who has tried to sleuth out us showing basic levels of interest in recruits on twitter, it is mind boggling to me that we are able to keep our recruiting efforts so secretive. It was not nearly this hard to find out who we were recruiting during the Walter era

He entered the transfer portal today.
I've found nothing as far as any UE interest.

I would much rather hear that we have offered or signed someone instead of hearing about a player entering the transfer portal.

You’re right municup.
I would also rather see us making offers. Accept my apologies for posting about Reed and Lacy. It just irks me that the transfer portal has at least 35-40, and sometimes more players, enter every day, and it’s really easy to see which guys are bigs, pgs, etc. When we have such glaring needs, why aren’t we seeing evidence that UE is at least expressing “interest” in more of them?
Like several posters, I take a quick look at VC most days with the hope that somehow there’ll be a talented kid we’ve landed, and yet, it seems that we are either a. Trying to keep our recruiting efforts under wraps (which doesn’t work with all the social media), b. Not expressing interest in nearly enough players, or c. Doing too MUCH background work to see if a kid can meet our academic requirements. Or maybe we’re just not organized enough to keep up with the pace required in today’s D1 world.

No need for a apology, if I don't remember what was said. Then it didn't bother me.
