Maybe they'll swap schools and make a reality TV show out of it. Hope they both find what they are looking for.

The problem for the incoming school, if both transfer to the same school, is that teams are back to giving out 13 scholarships this season. The really need to find a school that needs an infusion of players. For the record, there is nothing that keeps the player from pulling his name from the portal and rejoining his current team (like Lander did last year). My guess (like everyone else on here is that they end up at the same school). With that said, Evansville is exactly a school that needs an infusion of players. Even though at the moment I would consider it a long shot, I could conceive of a scenario where Evansville in short order gets a new AD and coach that they like and they both end up here; but I could also easily see where they end up somewhere else. Hoping first for some possible news on the AD position this week. Jawaun and Tristen are playing it smart by keeping their options open (even if they don't know where they will land at the moment).

Looks like the entire MVC is getting murdered in the transfer portal. Murray State particularly got hit hard today, with OVC Player of the Year Juice Hill, along with KJ Williams and 4 others. It appears McMahon has been in contact with Hill to get him to follow him to LSU.
Next year would probably be the best year in quite some time to start a rebuild.

If they care about academics and getting additional degrees, this could be as simple as that. UEs master programs are severely lacking. There’s only 3 degrees that could be completed while also playing basketball. Masters of Health Admin., Masters of Public Health, and Masters of Leadership. They play the commercials for the Masters of Leadership on the Jumbotrons at games and I’m still not sure what the hell a “leadership” degree is. So if you’re not looking for a career in healthcare and you’ve already acquired leadership skills from your basketball career, you’d probly want to look at spending that 5th year elsewhere pursuing a different degree. That being said, if we were on the cusp of winning The Valley next season, I’m sure both Jawuan and Shamar would be happily enrolled in the leadership program. This isn't discussed enough. Aces are at a significant disadvantage in recruiting the transfer portal due to UE's lack of graduate programs. This is especially true given that ALL players are eligible to take advantage of the 5th covid year.

I follow some UConn fans and stumbled upon this. I’d say it’s pretty unlikely the brothers ever play together in college.

Definitely some big name schools on the list for him. Wish we would have gotten him and Jawaun. Not sure why Walter didn't recruit him (his second year) but then again he thought Jake LaRavia was not good enough for us but Peace was.

Has anyone seen the numbers that Juwan’s brother, Tristan, is putting up at Connecticut (the defending National Champions)? Many articles on him are using the word “All-American” when talking about him. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4592965/tristen-newtonI always thought he was the better player between him and Juwan and still don’t know why we didn’t recruit him (harder). You have to figure our chances were pretty good of landing him with his brother here. Our current staff seems to be much better on evaluating talent.

Lick thought Swope was too small. He excelled at USI and is doing the same at ISU.

I think we are beginning to see this coaching staff is a better judge of talent than our last two coaches. Merfeld and Marty also had a hard time figuring out who could play and who could not. Merfeld and the AD at the time thought our senior class in Merfeld's fourth season would be top of the conference..well, we were not close. He was canned thereafter. Marty always thought players like Lewis Jones deserved to start and could play at a 3 or 4 position. Glad we have moved on. We are in a much better spot it appears to me...good kids that can play from what I am seeing.

We are in a much better spot it appears to me...good kids that can play from what I am seeing. To be fair, when Merfeld had three players kicked off the team in 2004 (Fletcher, Butler, and Nelson), he pretty much lost his chance at the great senior class. All of a sudden, he was behind the 8-ball with no options, and short on a solid foundation to build on. At that point, the writing was on the wall for him. We all knew his days were numbered. I was actually surprised he made it to after the 2007 season. But, all in the past, and doesn’t matter in the scheme of what we have happening now.

I’m completely satisfied with the quality of players our coaches are bringing into the program. If this is our base then our future is bright.
