All around good player, maybe his quickness has coaches backing off.But still look at his stats, especially his steals average

Could he be an A J Green (Northern Iowa) type of player who is also 6-4 and considered the best player in the Valley?
If we can get him we should take him.

Can score from any spot on the floor. Looks like he's always ready to shoot when he receives the ball. Good shooting percentages. From the articles it sounds like he's a good kid too. Having his dad as a coach is a plus. He would be a good recruit for TL. Maybe he and his dad would be a good fit for the Aces?

I like what I see in the highlights. I can see why he doesn't have a lot of offers though. He definitely isn't quick or athletic at all. Personally, I don't care - I think that is extremely overrated especially at a school like Evansville. You aren't going to get the best athletes here anyway so I think it's sort of foolish to evaluate people based on how athletic they are. They will always be less athletic than the other team's athletes or they will have major shortcomings in other areas (exhibit A - Cunliffe).
He can definitely shoot and he can score from anywhere on the floor.
The problem is though - we really need size. Desperately. At least one of the remaining scholarships has to go to a big man - minimum. I like Yoder's game well enough though that I would take him. He would definitely help with the shooting woes we currently have.
One other thing I really like about him is that he already knows how to play against people who are more physically gifted than him. You can see the shot fakes and the good footwork in the highlights. You don't see that with a lot of other guys because they have just been able to get by on talent alone. I really like this guy.

So for those keeping score with Trey Hall coming do we have two open scholarships left? That's what I am counting.
For my $.02 I say we take Charlie Yoder and a big man who can play. That would be my opinion. We still need shooting and we obviously need a big man. Rarely do you see a team have success that doesn't have multiple 2 guard type players who can really score the ball. And I think Curtis can be one of those guys but I think we need another one and Yoder could give us that for the future.
Now, one of the scholarships has to go to a big guy. Ideally, we have one more person leave and we can sign two big guys.
That's my opinion anyways.

I am a bit ambivalent about signing Yoder. I am no scout, but judging him solely on the video that is available, he does not look like a guy who could defend at all. For me, that has been perhaps the biggest issue which hinders the Aces. Not having a rim protector only makes matters worse. To me, he would be a lessser version of Frederking. I do find it interesting though, that Jacksonville State offered him...Ray Harper has a good eye for talent.
