Davis should be on the list again after 29 points last night.

BHum getting some love from the Field of 68. I would expect him to also be MVC newcomer of the week when the award is announced

Lee from Mo. St. won Player of the Week. Still trying to figure out how he beat out Ben for it though. Read this:
Missouri State guard Matthew Lee capped off a nice 8 day run by being named MVC player of the week. This coming after being named the MVP of the Paradise Jam , and following that up with a 28 pt performance against SC State on Sat. For the week Lee averaged 19 ppg, 6.5 apg, shot 50% fg, 46% 3pt, and 86% ft.
Not a bad 8 day span. In the same 8 day span, Ben had the following splits:
22.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 2.6 APG, 2.3 BPG, 2 steals, shot 54% FG, 47% 3pt, and 100% FT.
Hey, congrats on NOW, but I honestly believe he should have won POW as well.

Since he’s a newcomer they gave him that one and gave the second best statistical guy the player of the week award. Hypothetically speaking, if he puts up good enough stats to win the Larry Bird trophy, they’ll probly give him that only and award newcomer of the year to someone like Swope. Similar to how Kenny made an all conference team last year but didn’t make all newcomer if I recall correctly.

At this point, Bailey has to be the clear front runner for FOY. Cant be any other decision.

At this point, Bailey has to be the clear front runner for FOY. Cant be any other decision. Kevin Overton of Drake is probably in the conversation as well as the 6’5” freshman has started every game and is averaging 13.9 a game and 3.7 rpg and over one assist a game…Could be an interesting “battle” between these two for MVC freshman of the year. It also could be decided by their head to head match ups if all else is close throughout the year as they likely will guard each other.
