Also impressive is the fact that against EKU they started two freshman, a redshirt sophomore, a junior (Feit) and one senior (Clark). Everyone except Feit was a player that the new coach brought in. So it looks like they are building a program that is sustainable for the future and will only get better.
With that said, I will really be impressed if they beat Eastern Illinois on the road. I hope they surprise me but I have a feeling this is one they are not likely to win. But even if they don't they are headed in the right direction.

Social Media is a huge part of recruiting these days. If the men's coaches are not using it, then they are way behind the rest of the college landscape. Kids know a school and/or coaching staff is interested if they are followed by that coach....and vice versa. Twitter DMs are as valuable as texts, emails, and phone calls these days.

I've made numerous references to recruiting inside a 150-mile radius of Evansville, mainly because it just makes sense to count the number of quality high school programs between St. Louis, Cincy, Indy and anywhere they play country music. There are several really good schools in SW Indiana alone. What's likely to change now that UE's women's program moves from the bottom of the click list to the main headline -- you get area coaches interested. They want their players to rub elbows with college players who are winning, talking about winning, and proving they aren't just a designated defeat. Once these coaches start watching these games, noticing how offenses and defenses work, game flow, the concept of passing, boxing out, going for loose balls -- and getting positive outcomes, that 150-mile radius will start yielding the best players. Those girls are now not stopping at Evansville. Pretty soon, they will give it a second look. The second look is where you win. There is the other argument that recruiting outside that 150 miles is an even better idea. That's of course, incidental to the point. You get your players where you will. You get your enthusiasm for the program from people who can get in the car, drive an hour or so, visit the campus, meet the team, the student manager, the people who inhabit the environment. You win over your community. Winning 4 games in 4 years is not unlike having to hear a bad joke told by somebody who forgets the punch line.
