Caught the last quarter of this game. These are games UE was previously losing 90-40. So the leap forward has been pretty significant. Assuming their opponents aren't going to be worse, it is also pretty clear that not many of their opponents are 50 points better in the space of one summer and 3 games.

Good win for the Aces (even though I was not able to watch it).
I expect Eastern Illinois on the road to be their stiffest test yet. They are 3-0 with wins by 29, 56 and 9. The last one over Indiana State.

I watched the Lady Aces game on ESPN3 and their games are fun to watch. They play hard and seem to be very close knit as a team. There’s a lot of new players who are young and are still learning how to play as college athletes. They will have their ups and downs when they go against Valley teams but I think they will be competitive in most games.
The coaching staff put together for the Women’s program shows that UE basketball is coming back to exceed most if not all expectations and this program was about as low as you can get prior to this year. I hope that Evansville will come out more and support this team as they are showing what college athletics is all about.

I'm not a usual women's basketball viewer, but I have watched the last couple of Lady Aces games. They are doing a great job so far this year! Tonight's game vs. Eastern Kentucky was really competitive and fun to watch. The women's team is a lot more energetic than what I'm seeing with the men's team. Some other noticeable differences: anyone open on offense takes their 1st open good look .. they don't pass off if they have the open shot. They are not shy. Also, it is refreshing to see at least 2 offensive players challenging for the offensive rebound, instead of retreating immediately when a shot goes up. I didn't notice any shot clock violations (maybe there were, but not noticeable like the men's games). The bench is engaged and enthusiastic. And I also noticed how well the team shoots from 3 point distance. Maybe the men's team, especially head coach, could take notes on these things?

Women's basketball at this level should generally be no WORSE than 'we have a 50-50 chance' every game. The women should be using the program to enhance their education generally. When a program goes from averaging 4 wins an entire year to where the Aces currently are, it's worth noting.
There should be something of a mural meme surrounding this team:
Never let yourself go Ruffing.

I LOVED the killer instinct the team showed and the play calls from the bench. They did not try to milk away the clock in the final 4 minutes and go stagnant on offense. They continued to press, attack the basket, and run their normal offense. Instead of playing "not to lose", they actually played to "WIN".

They have already won half of their total wins from last year in the first three games, and equaled all of their wins from 2 years ago. Many of the same players. It is so apparent what just a change of leadership can do for a program. They are literally fun to watch. Seems like everytime I hop on twitter or some other social platform, Coach RSW or one of her assistants is cheering on an accomplishment or welcoming another recruit.
Contrast to the crickets we are getting from the men's side. Lickliter is literally running the team just like Ruffing did. The fact Baumann is sitting by watching this doesn't give me much hope for him at this point. He should be all over social media, and pressing flesh if Lickliter can't be bothered with it.
