Evansville Harrison SG/SF posted on his Twitter account that UE (among others) is showing interest. He’s 6-5, 170 lbs that really picked up his game the second half of his junior year averaging around 20 ppg. Lots of video out there on YouTube if you want to watch. He will be one to watch during his senior year.

That's what we need. More local kids who can play. He can't end up as bad as some of other recruits over the years. Peace, for example, wasted a scholarship and he couldn't even dress this senior season. We got to get more local interest to buy tickets.

Local kids would be great but this one isn't it. Anyone can put a highlight reel out to make themselves look good. If you watch all those dunks it's against AAU competition in the summer where no one is really playing any defense. He goes for the flashy play trying to dunk all the time. Does not have a consistent shot. Defense very suspect. Overall, not trying to shoot the messenger but he's not D1 quality.

Never seen the kid play and know nothing about him but this snippet from a CP article in January calls him a tenacious defender: Youthful Harrison boys basketball team seeing steady improvement
With that said I have no idea if he is D1 quality. When I get a chance I will try to watch some of his video. Maybe others who have seen him play in person can comment and see if we can get a consensus on whether we should or shouldn't recruit him.

Tenacious defender lol. I've seen him play on multiple occasions. I'm not saying he can't play at all. He's a good high school player. I honestly just don't see anything beyond that. I mean he might be tenacious in the local YMCA league I don't know but that's a stretch.

Owen Dease is way better than him.

Owen Dease is way better than him. I will have to take your opinion on this, as I have seen neither kid play. However, I certainly will stick with my opinion that UE needs to recruit more local/regional kids to improve interest in our program.

I agree with that statement. Unfortunately there really hasn't been a ton of local talent coming through here in the last 15 to 20 years. I mean there's been some exceptions but it hasn't been the rule.

I see where he landed at ISUb. His JUCO was where Jake Odum was an assistant at, so he followed him over. Glad to see a local talent land in the Valley.
