The ladies are sort of holding their own. Down only 10 in 4Q. Lousy 3Q hurt.

The Lady Aces need more D-I talent for sure. I could make a long list of their problems that better coaching could not make a dent on the road to improvement. Recruit, Recruit, Recruit.

We had 15 more rebounds than Valpo, our shooting was respectable, then further down the stat line you see we had 25 turnovers (17 coming off of Valpo steals.) How do you turn the ball over 25 times? if you watched the game you would know. The Aces passing looked like a bunch of middle school girls with no purpose. Throwing a pass into a crowd of defenders surrounding our player, a sideline pass inbounding right into the defenders hands, cross court skip passes right into the defense. Then there was the dribble drive. Valpo playing a compact zone and our players were trying to dribble through it. We were dribbling right and Valpo takes the ball and passes left for a fast break. It goes on and on. In my opinion, I’m glad they didn’t have to play Drake. It would have been embarrassing. They are not ready for Valley competition.

There are 200 young women within a 3-hour drive of Evansville who are good enough to turn this into a .500 team, which is generally quite acceptable at this level. You have to recruit a team that fits together. If you can't locate 10 of them, you are just ill-suited for the process. Offer them a college education, for crying out loud. They ain't going pro anyway!
