In case anyone still cares, the ladies fell at home to Bradley 96-53. For you non-math majors, that is a 43 point blowout to another small, private college in a mid-sized midwestern city. We probably just need to give our 5th year coach some time.
In a very cruel twist of fate, the teams square off again tonight at 6:00.

I was quite impressed that their defense did not allow Bradley to score 100 points. This team would be hard pressed to win the SIAC. This after 5 years of stellar recruiting. As Lindsey Graham would say, enough is enough.

I checked in to see the score. Saw 24-12 and thought he were go again. How ugly will it be? Elevate Tyra Buss now. It can only go up.

I noticed that we lost some freshmen players and other players this year. The team is down to 10 players on the roster on the Aces website... Anyone have any idea what could be going on?

I decided to check out the women’s game today and so far so good. However, the announcers were talking about it being the second game under interim head coach Doug Rogers. Is Ruffing out? Anyone know the scoop?

I would assume so, but that’s just a guess. They have been getting blown out recently. They needed to make a change. I think Tyra needs more time as an assistant coach but she would be the one I would want running the program. She has the drive, energy, and knows what it takes to win. Plus, she can still hit the court and show people how to play some basketball.

Aces down by 4 at the half. Looks like they are enjoying playing the game again. What has gone on for the last 4 years was almost criminal. That zone defense was the most ridiculous defense I have ever seen, and it was never changed for Ruffing's career.

Guessing something is going on. The team is down to 10 players now.

It tells me all I need to know.

Wow you guys are right. Erin Dumas, a quick freshman point guard, is no longer listed on the roster. That’s unfortunate because I thought she was much better than Anna Newman but Ruffing played Newman over Dumas in the non-conference cupcake games. Wonder if she got tired of riding the bench. Newman is not quick enough to be a MVC point guard, doesn’t shoot it well, and has not improved freshman to junior year.
I’m pretty sure Aniah Griffin (2nd best player) is also injured which is why they are so bad right now. Having only 10 players is rough. 15 girls registered minutes last year. The funny thing is that I watched a lot of their non-conference games and they weren’t that bad. However, the MVC competition is way better than Bellarmine (who has a net ranking of 336 out of 337 D1 teams). I think the men’s team will eventually compete in the MVC but I don’t think the women’s team will succeed any time soon.

They play at Illinois State tomorrow afternoon, have we heard anymore on the status of Ruffing?
