Looks like it is official according to his Twitter account:
Excited to say I am 110% committed to the D1 school of @ueathletics_MBB Thank you to my dad and my mom for everything. So much I can’t even explain. Also want to thank @statesmenmbb for putting me in the position to be successful...GO ACES 💜🧡 #doubted
Looks like he is 6’1“ or 6’2” and has three years of eligibility.

He played a year at Findlay Prep and according to ESPN247 is a 3 star recruit but only had offers from schools like Siena, UC Riverside and Southern Utah. He is a JUCO shooting guard with range and a quick release: www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/06/27/findlay-prep-produced-nba-players-then-overnight-controversial-program-shut-down/%3foutputType=ampJune 27, 2019 at 7:00 AM EDT HENDERSON, Nev. — Carey Wohlman was home in Minnesota late last month when she received a call with news that upended her family’s carefully laid plans. She chose to wait to tell her 18-year-old son, Blaise Beauchamp, until he returned from a basketball tournament in Dallas with his AAU team. Beauchamp had recently completed his first year at Findlay Prep, a high school basketball powerhouse outside Las Vegas with a nagging reputation as a hoops incubator with little education to offer beyond the hardwood. He had earned his first Division I scholarship offer (California Riverside) and, with another season looming, he had landed in Texas eager to nab a few more. After all, its negative image aside, Findlay produced 17 NBA players in the past decade and more than 70 Division I scholarships... Findlay Prep had closed, leaving Beauchamp, along with a handful of other elite basketball prospects, without a high school. Beauchamp’s predicament is particularly challenging. He is ineligible to play his senior year back in Minnesota, because he repeated eighth grade after moving from California, not realizing what was at stake. He is essentially a high school free agent before the biggest season of his life. Even so, he still defends the institution that left him stranded. Many of his teammates feel the same way... Then there’s Beauchamp, the 6-2 combo guard with NBA range and a Stephen Curry-quick release, and the player most affected by Findlay’s closure, given his eligibility issues. Beauchamp, who is seeking an out-of-state prep school for his senior year, still said he has no regrets. “I would come here again even if I knew the outcome,” he said. “It was a great experience. I made relationships and met people from all over the world. I got my first D-I offer with these guys. I’ve never experienced anything like it.”

www.ltcathletics.com/sports/mens-basketball/20-21/Looks like he hasn’t played JUCO yet and will be a freshman in 2020-21. Next season (2021-22) he’ll come to UE and have three years of eligibility. That’s how I understand it. Lincoln Trail has a 7 footer, Richard Rivers, that’s listed as a sophomore this year that was at Mississippi Valley State last year. Since you can’t teach size, maybe the coaches keep an eye on Rivers when keeping up with Beauchamp.

I watched a lot of his video and he’s definitely a shooter with a shooter’s touch. He definitely has college 3-point range. Findlay Prep definitely had a top basketball program for a number of years and for Blaise to be brought into their program says a lot.
Parking him at Lincoln Trail in Illinois for a year makes since so that he can get back in a classroom and learn to study to prepare him for the academics at UE and on the basketball court where he will get a ton of playing time.
I see 247 Sports had previously listed him as a 3-star combo guard and this is the type of skill level UE needs to recruit to get better. Being this close to Evansville should allow some of our fans an opportunity to see him play.
Now if we can get a commitment from a big athletic center to complete our need in the middle. Keep digging coaches.

So I take it that means he’s a year away from coming to UE and that does not put us over the scholarship limit for this coming year. If that is correct shouldn’t this be moved to the 2021 recruiting class? I think that is what caused the confusion on being over the limit on scholarships.

I agree with your comments austin, but it’s the labeling on the board that’s confusing. Should a recruit be placed according to his graduating class or the UE recruitment class. If a recruit is to graduate HS in 2021 is he placed in that box? That same recruit attends JC does the box then change to 2022 if he’s still being recruited during his freshman year at JUCO and it continues. Then what about a recruit that enrolled in another school and drops out ala Larry Bird and then decides to return to basketball at another school later?
There’s no clear way to label recruits that won’t be confusing to some. We should assume the coaching staff know how many scholarships are available at any time and just name the headers as to which year the coaches are actively recruiting for. Blaise was in his HS class of 2020 but chose prep school which is very common now. He was recruited by UE as part of the 20-21 year. Due to whatever reasons he will be a part of the incoming UE class of 21-22 with 3 years of eligibility unless he becomes a nonqualifier at JUCO due to academic performance.
I solve all those issues by opening each recruiting box daily and look for new posts on Twitter. I saw the Twitter post by Blaise shortly after he posted but he was a little more difficult to figure out because of all his movement and the COVID lockdown of sports.

I agree AcesHigh with your comments. My personal feeling is he is being recruited for next year and that is where he should be listed but I am ok either way as I follow closely enough to figure it out; I also have you and others on this board to clarify on anything like this.
Thanks again as always for your insight.

This seems like a great signing from a player who was probably underrecruited. From the video he does have a quick release. I suppose I was more impressed with his quickness and how he uses his left hand so well. His ability to both drive and hit the three make him an attractive player for the Aces. Great job by Aces staff.

Now I'm not a expert by all means. But it seems to me he shoots from a low trajectory,in front of his face, not above his head. But really who cares just as the shot goes in

Evansville basketball adds another 2021 commit with guard Blaise Beauchamp amp.courierpress.com/amp/5937200002?__twitter_impression=trueI agree with Municup that he does start his shot really low; but hopefully his quick release will offset that. You have to trust the coaching staff and their evaluation. Evanville does not get many 3-star recruits historically. Of course, verbalcommits ranks him 2-star; but ESPN247 is generally a cumulative ranking. So obviously he must have been rated higher in the past.

Watch some video of Stephen Curry and you will see a low trajectory shooter too. Stephen has such a quick release it doesn’t matter. Stephen is 6-3 and is often guarded by much taller players but he gets the job done and scores big time.
I’m not saying Blaise is going to be the next Stephen Curry, but I did read there have been past comparisons to Stephen and his quick release. Blaise has modeled his game after Stephen also.
We have a coaching staff with a different mindset than in previous years and they are bringing in a different type of player than we have seen. If they like Blaise, then I really like Blaise.

He looks comfortable putting the ball on the floor which is a plus. But a guy who already seems proven to be able to knock down a catch and shoot shot? We definitely need that. And shooting is something that will translate at any level.
