That's the first I've seen of coach Seltzer speaking. Seems like a very likeable dude

What happened today is not much different than many of our other games. For some reason (coaching?) we seem to have decided to live or die by the 3-point shot. However, we are not a very good shooting team but a team that shoots in spurts. It doesn’t take much looking at videos by assistant coaches to see this. Most of our 3s are taken when a defender is not within 5 feet of our player. The defense knows that they don’t need to guard our shooters tight so they drop back toward the paint. When they do guard closer to the 3-point line the driving lanes are open and we keep looking for a 3. We have good driving players they just don’t do it.
This may work in the NBA when more players can hit an open shot consistently but not UE. I recently saw a Phoenix Suns player hit 43 straight NBA 3s before missing one in practice so the shoot from anywhere offense can work for them.

No emotion and little fight from us during the 2nd half. This team has the talent to withstand the firestorm going on inside the basketball program here at UE and they have the talent to compete/win in the MVC ...it all boils down to whether or not this team of young men can come together and play to their potential. I think Evansville fans are ready to give their loyal support, but the team has to meet this new challenge...gonna take extra work, playing with energy and emotion, and pulling together as a team.....none of which was evident the second half of today's game. If the guys can realize that this particular challenge can be a toughening, maturing. energizing momentum that propels them to competitive, winning play, then they have absorbed a huge punch to the gut and got back up on their feet and proven their potential. The spotlight is on UE now and on these young men. I hope they shock the conference and FIGHT!

Can this be a wake up call. They just got MVC beat. I sure hope so!

I think this exposed a problem we will continue to have... when teams have the ability to force the ball down low, we cannot handle it. We are taller and much more athletic than in the past, but bulk and low post strength hurt us. I believe this loss was more about MSU deciding to pound the ball inside and own the boards than it was our lack of effort. They also only had 2 TOS in the 2nd half with less than 3 to play - that is hard to beat. (I wished we would have pressed them to force tempo)

I don't relate much to the coaching issue or any of the players or how the game is played, but this is not a tournament team. It's a contending team for the conference, but it's not going to win the conference tournament. That doesn't mean these guys aren't fun to watch or that they won't get better. But they are not a tournament team. You can't collapse over 13 or 14 minutes and win when it matters.

50 something points means nothing more than: really bad connection between players and coaches.. our best players are probably not our best leaders... And mostly lack of adjustments. Damn. I'm not a coach, nor claim to be.. but make some in-game changes.

I’ve said it all year long. Too much reliance on the three-point shot, and not very good interior and help side defense. Cunliffe looked better than he has in awhile, although I noticed he drifts too much and doesn’t not go straight up on his three point shots. Arthur hustles. We cannot live on 3 pt shooting!

if we are going to win any of these tough games against good valley teams Hall needs to play a lot better than this only 1 rebound and zero points in 34 minutes is totally Unacceptable and will not do anything but hurt the team. If he makes half those shots we have a chance but when he doesn't and throws up bricks like he did last night its going to be tough time to regroup and get ready for Saturday I'm usually always working so its tough for me to go to games but anyone that is free go cheer our guys on they deserve it.

The Aces have struggled all year (with the exception of UK) of putting two halves together. I thought we played a good 1st half for the most part. Didn't shoot that well (we haven't really shot well all season except for the Miami game really). Our defense was pretty good and the ball was moving. 2nd half starts out with Riley and Cunliffe taking a couple dumb shots and really it never recovered from there. Hopefully we can bounce back Saturday - starting out 0-2 would be very bad and losing at home is pretty much a guaranteed way to get your Thursday night ticket punched for STL. I'm sure Valpo thinks they can come in and steal one.

Sycamore fan here. I have watched several UE games this year on my phone and I just think the team as a whole is soft. It seems like if things start to not go their way the game just blows up.

Unreal. Thought The ACES looked like World Beaters, for 18 mins of the first half. Jumped in shower, sat back down after, the plus came out of commercial break....WTF? It doesn't matter, who coaches these guys, they seem to just bloody fall apart after the break, every game. This time, however, they didn't hold their poise & recapture the lead. It was painful to watch. I wanted so bad, to get angry. But, held back, concerning the program's turmoil, right now. I watched some highlights this AM. In the second half, when things started heading "South", they really have no one who steps up and gets in their team mates grill and fires them back up. This team NEEDS, more than ever, RIGHT EFFING NOW a Mateen Cleaves type guy to grab the proverbial face mask's of their fellow ACES and scream some pride back into them. KJ?....Thought he was gonna emerge as that guy, after the events of this week.....guess not DeAndre?.....Too emotional. He needs that tough love counseling sometimes. Art?...…More of a the stealthy leader type. Not "in your face & get it in gear" kinda guy. Noah?.....No. I like Noah. But, not his personality type. Sam?.....More of a, "climb on my back, I'll get you there." I want so bad, for Sam to shine. But, in an instant, his demeanor can switch. Shamar...."The Canadian Comet"....He needs to be the one. Coach Seltzer should turn this team over to him. Put a "C" on his jersey. I think he can be our Isaiah, Fred, John, or Steve.
I'll be one of the 7K there on Saturday go aces

Fair, and after watching last night's game, I could agree with soft, however, this game reminded me of both the Ball State and Murray games. In all three games, we jumped out to big leads in the first half. The second half, they make huge comebacks. With Ball State and Murray, we weathered the storm, and gutted a win out. I just knew Missouri State was going to get back in the game, but I thought we would at least stay competitive, like we did in those other two games. I refused to watch the Jacksonville State game, but I assume our 2nd half looked like that game. Going cold, rushing shots, hanging heads, etc. Like many others have said, we have talent, but are missing that floor general, or guy that is willing to put the team on his back..take charges, plow inside at all costs, etc. Would love to see a Reed Jackson emerge on this team.

After watching this, my initial reaction is wins or losses at this time are not important. I didn't see the game last night. Checked in twice. I saw the halftime score and when MSU was up by 12. I have absolute confidence in these guys taking threes, but there are games where you have an off night. Why not take the ball to the basket? Why not attempt a higher percentage shot? I'm just posting out of frustration. $@#%!
