I know we haven't talked about this guy in a while. He is still showing Undecided and still shows an offer from UE

Josh in an interesting guy. Really tough athletic guy, but doesn't really have a shot. Obviously, McCarty offered him, but I don't know if TL has been in touch with him. He has not had any other offers for awhile. Can't help but think he could be a positive addition.

Josh headed to Drury. Very good D2 school but somewhat surprised. He should do well there especially if he can develop his shot

More and more of Walter's recruits are picking schools of a weaker conference or D2

More and more of Walter's recruits are picking schools of a weaker conference or D2 Also note that after Khalil decommitted he had only one offer since January. However, he did just receive an offer from DePaul. Eric Lee who teamed up with Khalil for a while was being recruited by UE but was not offered just signed with Alabama A & M. While we will never know who Walter would have signed, I am quite happy with our signees under TL. With at least 5 scholarships available for next year, who we sign with those will determine the direction of MBB for some time to come.

I also like our class. Trey is certainly the key guy, but Page reminds me a bit of Wes Washpun of UNI, and Jax might be a valuable reserve. He also adds some maturity. His bro was a walk-on at UL, but could have played a lot of mid-major ball, had he not wanted to be a Card. Iyen might turn out to be the best of the lot. Unlike some JUCO “stars” who just throw up 3’s, he seems to potentially be one of those “team” guys who will do whatever his coach needs. Add in Curtis, and we’ve got about as much as we might have expected.

I am wondering if grades were the reason for Josh going D-2? There were a number of D1 schools in on him well before Drury offered him.

I saw where Josh ended up at Highland CC instead of Drury and averaged 13 a game for them. So he may end up somewhere in DI after all.

I am wondering if grades were the reason for Josh going D-2? There were a number of D1 schools in on him well before Drury offered him. I’m wondering if there is any empirical evidence that, prestige aside, that a D1 school is academically superior to a D2 school. I do know that many “elite” schools have rock star professors who rarely set foot in a classroom. Window dressing. Academically ineligible athletes are a rarity on any level. If you can play they’ll make sure you get enough Cs to remain eligible. I don’t look down my nose at D2 educations.

I suspect a degree from the U of Health Sciences & Pharmacy might be a pretty good one, even if the Eutectics only won 1 game last year.
