Kansas State transfer David Sloan has heard from Cincinnati, Evansville, New Mexico, James Madison, Murray State, amongst others, he told @stockrisers .
Averaged five points last season. Visited Cincinnati last year before choosing KSU
Played in all 32 games last year for Kansas State, as a Junior. Good to see us still fighting some big names for players.

He was a 3-star recruit. Played two years at a community college before playing a year at Kansas State. So he would have to sit out a year and have only one year to play. (Of course, there are rumors that transfers may not have to sit out a year with the Covid-19 situation.) He was recruited by the likes of Butler, Louisville, Memphis, Tennessee, Texas, Iowa State, etc. He choose Kansas State over Cincinnati and Georgetown. www.verbalcommits.com/players/david-sloan “The David Sloan era as Kansas State point guard has lasted one year. The 6-foot, 180-pound senior has entered the transfer portal after one season with head coach Bruce Weber and the Wildcats, according to a source, becoming the second player with starting experience to leave the team in the last two weeks. Sloan, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, was the team’s sixth-leading scorer with 5.3 points to go along with 1.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 19.4 minutes while appearing in all 32 games with nine starts for the Wildcats this past season. He shot 41.4% from the floor, including 27.1% from 3-point range.” Article from when he signed with K-State: www.google.com/amp/s/www.bringonthecats.com/platform/amp/kansas-state-mens-basketball/2019/5/7/18536044/kansas-state-basketball-recruiting-introducing-david-sloan Of course, as many have pointed out we need some height. I would think with the Emmette Page signing and our need for height that this would be a long shot.

I'm sure he is good, but with Emmett committing we would have 3 PG next year.

From what I gather, he only has 1 year left to play regardless of when he can suit up. He played 2 years of Juco and 1 year at KSU. So, no matter what, we’d have a year with him, Givance, and Page. This makes no sense at all.

I forgot about his CC time. I was thinking he had three years to go. Our coaching staff did reach out to him however so maybe there are things going on behind the scenes we don’t know about yet.

I am guessing that the coaching staff had multiple options to fill the “guard” spot and once they signed Emmette that Sloan became a long shot for our roster but just a guess.

You don't think that there may be a subtle impact of his last name?
