Aces putting her in high gear, winning 8 of last 10 and def. IL St Friday and Saturday.
UE hosts the MVC Post-season Tourney in one (1) month, which will bring in some of America's best collegiate baseball. Here's one that KNOWS the E-ville area can put on a good show while marketing the great local baseball heritage. Any "Special Promotions" by the Convention & Tourism Bureau? Beeline to BQ & beer?
***Nick Smith 13.50 ERA? Aces Pitching Coach?

Smith having arm trouble again? He's got enough heat where he can mix w/ a cutter/slider/changeup to keep batters quessing. Let's not forget, he was "MVC P of the Year" his 1st season.
Those UE bats are enough to give ISU problems...

Those UE bats are enough to give ISU problems... I never heard the extent of Smith's surgery, other than it was mentioned on one of the telecasts. He's not even in the top 4 now and is pitching relief behind Reed and probably Hansmann. So he's (IMO) not relevant for a sustained stretch, which is unfortunate. Deverman, Schultz and Harris appear to be the top 3. Sickly State is still the odds on favorite in the Valley tournament, although getting an early loss is always tough. I don't see them as a No. 2 seed. At the moment, about 6 teams could get that.
