Sickly State at 20-5 is proving to be the class of the conference so far overall. A few games today will settle out the standings. It's either a lot of hitting, not much pitching or it's just the way the game is played. Belmont has become a run-making machine. Mark Shallenberger is 6th in Valley hitting at .380. He has been HBP 16 times. Harrison Taubert is hitting .330. Carson Garner of Murray leads HR hitters with 11. OPS of 1.329 -- which will attract the scouts in a big way. JT Sokolove is 14 of 14 in steals. Brant Thompson of Misery State has a 2.45 ERA, which is exceedingly good in the Valley where hitting is as important as breathing. Terre Haute Tech is a full 2.4 runs better than the Aces in the team ERA department.
