We competed against a very good team as I believe we got a little tired as Drake didn't play yesterday. We had one bad stretch in the 1st half about the 8 minute mark where they pulled away, also in the 2nd half they went 0-6 and we only scored 1 point. As far as Bailey goes I hope he stays,he did what a lot of other freshman do,makes mistakes.I believe he is stuck between being a PG and SG.

He should direct toward a Roman Penn-type game, given his build. Needs to dramatically improve his ball handling & passing. But surround him w/ bodies that compliment each other, and it'll all fall into place.

I thought the team played very hard in both of their games, I agree with another poster, that the Aces seemed to be tired last night and I was surprised that Coach didn't play his top 4 bench players more, to compensate for the starters tired legs. Ben was getting held and bumped all game long and the refs refused to call a foul in the Aces favor. All in all it was a great season in year #2, going from a 5 win season to 16. Thanks to the seniors and wish you much success for your future. Hopefully, but doubtful that everyone else returns next season.

My recap: Ragland was hired the last week of May. The portal was almost empty and recruiting freshman was pretty much impossible. He inherited a huge mess. A bad cocktail of long running incompetent and indifferent leadership. With that thought, I have a greater respect for what Indiana State has done with regard to basketball and baseball. This, in spite of their “leadership”, who was rightfully run out of town this summer. “If we win 15, I would call it a big step forward”. Heard that a lot. Development—Toumi….goes without saying. —We had 4 core players with zero D1 experience, zero time playing/playing against grown-man MVC defense. Haffner 1 and zero. Toumi 1 and 1. Thomas 2 limited years at Bradley. A walk on and one with mostly SWAC experience. Recruiting— MW opened the door for Bailey, but Snow, Ziggy, Prez P set the table and Ragland closed the deal. DJ on the staff > MW over the long haul in my opinion. —16 wins will make recruiting a lot easier. —Our Spring signees produced a lot more than the Fall signees. Bailey, He made a lot of freshman mistakes. So did Hughes. Our expectations from Hughes were lower. They both found out the difference between non-con and MVC. I hope he stays, but he needs a Toumi-like makeover of his basketball brain. His outward enthusiasm in the locker room after the Illinois State game was the most I’ve ever seen from him……. whatever that may or may not mean. There are a lot more reasons for optimism than pessimism right now. I didn’t see Jackson or Tesch on the bench at STL…..

Reason players were absent is because the MVC ran the tourney like the NCAA tourney, and they had limited numbers of seats for on the bench. I know Braylon was in sweats, but I also didn’t see Gui. But doesn’t mean he wasn’t there, but was most likely in the crowd (as a redshirt)

Was disappointed Haffner did not get more playing time. Thanks for a great season Aces! Hope most of you stay but if you don't hope your futures are bright. To the coaches good luck finding new players in the portal and on the recruiting trail.

Evaluating the team as it matured. Honestly, Josh Hughes should be getting some Evansville support so he will stay and get better. He had about 2/3rds of a game early on but it seemed he wore down at the end. I think he will be stronger and much more of an inside force in another year. Not like we haven't seen what such a player means to a Valley team. I won't begin to say who does what otherwise. This roster will have a lot of turnover.
Replacing Gage Bobe will be the first order of business.
After that, find me a monster rebounder out of Serbia and we're good to go.
