SIU did pretty well this year considering the hit they took do to the horrible transfer portal. Good lord they lost 2 damn good players in Demaskus and Jones. One starts for Illinois and the other is a starter for Purdue. They had some tough losses for sure, but those guys are studs in the big ten and he wildly under performed with them on the roster for 4 years. Then when they left, he failed to get any talent in the portal to offset the lost. If Xavier Johnson hadn’t taken a massive leap this year, they’d be worse than UIC. I’m not sure what the SIU admin will do, but I doubt the fan base or anyone in the ADs office is going to accept the loss of Domask & Jones as an excuse. This is a fact, and was evident in OT last night after X fouled out. UIC > SIU talent wise. In either event, last night was a good first step for our Aces.

It is amazing what a big win does. No arm chair coaches telling Rags who should play and who to set. No Bobe haters, on this website today. Actually nice to read. Very nice win last night boys, As many have said it was ugly but a win. Does not matter how the wins come just as long as the come. The team fought on defense and offense for 40 minutes. Loved seeing the bodies hitting the floor and diving after loose basketballs. That was an team effort. Need another one tonight. Go Aces!! play hard for 40!

Friend flew up from Madeira Beach, FL w/ wife to be @ Arch Madness. Said last night's UE crowd was the best he's seen in 9 yrs!Good to see UE come out on top in a "grind out" style of game. Ya take 'em however you can get 'em. Reminds me of an ol' commercial from an Orlando, FL tire dealer:
"Tire's ain't pretty, but everyone needs 'em."

Crowd was lit last night, and should be even better tonight. We need the raucous crowd again. Hoping that even more show up today. Would love to see a wave of purple coming out. We honestly should have the best traveling fans for this as it is a really quick and easy drive to get here. I understand work schedules get in the way, but we know the dates way in advance. Let’s work to bring in the biggest crowd every year now. Let’s go!!!!

I was shocked at how many people were there last night. Hopefully there’s significantly more tonight. It’s a much easier trip for us than Drake fans, so I’m expecting us to have the crowd advantage.

Not related but interesting. Pepperdine was ahead of Pacific at one point 26-0, 39-2 and 56-9 at halftime. Pacific roared back to lose by about 60.
