ISU is 24-5 and was ranked as high as #23 in the country. They beat us 87-73 at their place on January 3rd.
ISU tends to play eight guys, but their five starters tend to get the bulk of their minutes:
- Isaiah Swope (5'10" Jr): 16.9 ppg, 37.3% from 3
- Ryan Conwell (6'4" So): 15.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 38.7% from 3, 86.7% FT shooter
- Robbie Avila (6'10 So): 16.7 ppg, 7 rpg, 4 apg, 41% from 3
- Jayson Kent (6'8" Jr): 13.1 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 82.4% FT shooter
- Julian Larry (6'3" Jr): 10.8 ppg, 4.38 apg, 45.5% from 3
Xavier Bledson (6'6" RSr) also plays 18.4 mpg: 6.8 ppg, 2.8 apg, 3 rbg
Pretty much every guy on their team seems to be a threat from 3. Masen Miller (6'2" Jr) and Jake Wolfe (6'5" Redshirt fifth year) also play around ten minutes a game.

I don’t recall their weekend crowds ever being as good as the one SIU brought yesterday, but maybe the excitement around the program will change that. I still doubt they can fill up the entire visitor section like SIU did.

If you reference the Missouri State articles on their attendance woes, you will see they cite the successes SIU has had in recent years in turning around their attendance.
Apparently they even paid for a bus to come here for the women's game a few weeks ago. No idea if they had one yesterday, but Logan and company should be looking at them for how they have engaged their students and fans. I get that it is a bigger school, but they have lost a lot of enrollment in the last few years, and that region is pretty rural.
Apparently they weren't too impressed with our student section yesterday. While this is less than what we have seen, this has to be worked on this year.

I was pretty disappointed with our student section yesterday too. Even by our standards, it was a horrendous turnout. We usually have 3-4x that many students there, which isn’t saying much, but it’s disappointing that even the 15-20 normally dedicated students couldn’t make the trip out for a winnable game. I’m not sure what the solution is, but I hope Ziggy is motivated to fix it too. Winning helps, but it’s gonna take a lot more than winning to get 50+ students to regularly sit in that student section. Hopefully they find a way to address it for next year because we have a chance to be really good, and a raucous student section can make a big difference in our home court advantage.

I was at Franklin Lanes Saturday afternoon. I don't know what group it was, but two nice charter buses full of UE students came in for a party. There had to be at least 100 of them.
Take the 15 largest clubs/teams/organizations/fraternities/sororities on campus and assign each of them a game to be responsible for the student section. Make it a contest and the winning group, based on attendance, creativity, etc gets a nice prize or outing.

Looks like it will likely be our best visiting crowd this year.
