Have to eliminate silly mistakes we do have some, and not trying to pick on any one play, but we had the ball on the run with a 4 point lead and the momentum. Toumi was on a fast break and passed to Strawbridge rushed a 3, I wished we had pulled that back out and ran a play. I think they went down and hit a 3 off the miss, you never know, but that was a key play I thought.

I don’t think any offensive possession truly hurt us. The two play that hurt the most was that 3 they hit with one second on the shot clock and the fade away make from their post player at the end.

I actually thought that the Birds shooting close to 60 pct. in the first half was more of a problem than a couple of turnovers.

In the first game with ISUr, Kinziger played 26 minutes and had 10 points. Poindexter played 15 minutes and did not score. This time, Kinziger played 37 and had 18. Poindexter played 34 minutes and had 27. The Aces and Redbirds are both vastly improved teams. We had to double at times on the inside and their 3 point shooting killed us. But we were right there, another winnable game. That’s 3 tough ones in a row but you’ve got to feel good about the trajectory of our team. We can definitely make some noise in St. Louis.

But , it wasn’t the end of the world when he slipped.

Not sure if UIC or Valpo could catch us whether the Flames beat us among their sea of unused red seats. Even if we can't pull out another W we should hang on to tenth.. I like our team no matter how it goes down the stretch. That having been said, let's beat the dogs and trees at The Ford..

For all the balance in the Valley, the teams that are winning down the stretch have these monster guys in the low post who back in, back in, back in, butt their way to the rim and score while refs focus on hand check fouls 40 feet from the rim. If you have that guy, the shooting percentages go up radically over players who are forced to find openings at 12 feet out. Here and there, you find a shooter who's unconscious, like Kinsinger became the last couple of games, and you finally realize that empty possessions are costing you a seeding spot in the A.M tournament.

Couldn't see the game today but I saw the box score. - The seniors are playing too many minutes - The Freshmen not enough - #3 went 4/5 fg 3/4 triples, and only plays 15min? - and again, I'd play Cuff every minute he wants.

I’m a Cuff fan all day. But he couldn’t have stayed with their guards. Those little guys was constantly moving. Agree, Cam should have gotten more minutes. But, seniors, upperclassmen deserved every minute they played today.

Dissappointing loss, watched entire game. I thought we made a lot of poor decisions throughout the game in terms of shot selection and some of the passing. When we finally took the lead we worked so hard to get we then jack up an off balance 3 point shot resulting in a score at the other end. We made a number of rushed shots, off balance, trying to dribble into traffic. Their big guys ate our lunch all day long. Bottom line is, we are better than last year but still missing pieces. We gave them a lot of wide open threes especially in the first half and had to spend a lot of energy playing catchup after falling behind 30-15.
Hopefully we can get one of two on this road trip and regroup going to UIC, another team we beat at home.
I think our baseball team looks to be the bright spot in Aces athletics.
Go Aces !

I’ve seen two post now about Kenny shooting a 3. If that’s the complaint about him, you have bigger issues and it isn’t basketball. The kid shot an open 3 in transition and barely missed. Ask any basketball guy and they will tell you and transition 3 is a great shot. But beyond that miss; kenny is a 5th year, 2nd team all conference, 1000 point scorer and is the most unselfish guy on the team with probably the best basketball IQ. If guys would have hit their shots he would have had 10 assists no turnovers. He played the entire 2nd half and tell me who you would sub him out for. So, to point out the kids miss 3 in transition is stupidity.
We lost because of defense in the post. We’re constantly scrambling to help the post, we’re late on switches and then give up 3s because of that. Going zone late in the second half and giving up a wide open wing 3 wasn’t a bright idea. Today’s experience was lacking defense. But overall offense was not a problem.

The timing off it was at a critical point, we had just worked really hard to get the lead, I feel like with the lead we should have ran our offense. If he was wide open, yes take it, but don’t remember him being wide open. No one play cost us the game, you are right on that.
