Kenny got the T in the 1st half, but midway thru the 2nd he gets flagrantly shoved after the whistle -- ref is standing right there and ignores it.

Another loss on a last secong shot. !@#$@##$^^$$!!! On to IlSU who knocked off the Trees in TH. I'm still lovin' this season and Aces basketball.
You can blame the coach or the referees or even a player or two. Hindsight is 20/20 and that's why they play the game
LET'S GO ACES!!!

This is hard to watch. We could be soo much more better… Why is Bobe playing? Why is Thomas playing? Cuff and Bailey are your best guards at this point of the season. We can say whatever but numbers don’t lie!!! Coach constantly make the wrong decisions in who he plays down the strecth. He doing well for year two but what about the future?

We can say whatever but numbers don’t lie!!! Coach constantly make the wrong decisions in who he plays down the strecth. He doing well for year two but what about the future? Were not seriously going to do the stupid thing where we start questioning if Raglands the guy after a loss? I mean seriously…. I understand saying something like that after a 50 point loss and being frustrated, but we just lost on a buzzer beater to one of the top two teams in the league. If a few shots go differently in our last two games, we’re likely tied for 4th place in the MVC after tomorrow, despite our best player missing a month of the season and getting our asses kicked without him. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say we likely win two of the games we lost without Ben if he was healthy. That’s a lotta IFs, but you could argue we’d likely be in third place if Ben stays healthy and 4-5 bounces go differently in the last week. We can’t seriously be questioning a guy that took us from rock bottom to having a roster that’s capable of going on a run in St Louis in one offseason just because we went wire to wire with a MVC championship contender and ended up on the wrong side of a buzzer beater…. “What about the future?” I’ll tell you what about the future, it’s incredibly bright if he continues recruiting like he did this past offseason, and I have no reason to suspect he won’t. Question his coaching decisions at times, but he’s made plenty of great coaching decisions this season as well. He has a team completely bought in on playing hard defense and playing pretty good offense, for the most part. I can’t believe we’re really having this discussion again. I couldn’t be more certain that Ragland is the right guy to lead our program.

I was at the Ford and thought our crowd was into the game tonight and fairly vocal. I don't have ESPN+, but wondering if they only show the student section and the dead zone behind them -- reason I ask is because here are 2 comments from the Drake message board:
"There’s hardly a crowd or student presence that I’ve seen. Quiet arena, akin to a covid game. With that said, the crowd isn’t very hostile, so I’d think we’d have that in our favor."
"Is there a worse environment in basketball than Evansville?"

If you’re questioning Ragland it’s time for you to log off and take a break. I don’t think some of you realize how bad it was when ziggy and rags took over. The fact he has us competing with the top of the league already is incredible

The problem is there is no one in the front rows of the Ford on the side the cameras face besides behind the UE bench. The media side of the ford center has a lot more fans in the first 5 rows, but the side behind the benches don’t show a ton of people in the first few rows. It’s hilarious seeing their comments though. We outdraw them in our worst seasons in program history while they’re in the middle of the best run in their programs history. I don’t want to hear anything about crowds and fan enthusiasm from them.

What people often see on tv is the area between the court and the first row of seats which is a long way away compared to most "basketball arenas." Remember everyone, this is not a basketball first arena, it's a hockey arena, just ask our former mayor and his crew who made this decision. The fans are not close to the court anywhere around it other than the row of seats opposite the team benches.
The Drake posters are clueless about Evansville basketball fans. They have no idea what our history is or what is coming in the next few years should the good things continue to come with our coaching staff, AD and President.
Regarding the game, we just did not make enough good (and smart) plays throughout the game or made too many losing (dumb) plays. The technical foul cost us, some key missed free throws here and there cost us, a few lost assignments on defense mainly by one player and some ill advised shots at bad times (Toumi) cost us. However, we made them make tough shot after tough shot because we gave 100% effort and played some really good team defense. We came out ready to play (again) and have come such a long way (at home that is). I mean what an improvement over the last time we played them. This team is 100% more fun to watch than last year. Fans that are not attending some games are really missing out.
This brings us to the next two games, both on the road, both vs teams we beat at home. So, will we bring the same energy and defensive focus on the road that we have shown at home and at Murray State to have a chance to win that game or will we go back to the weak road team we have been for many years? I am betting on the Aces ! With us having more confidence and with Ben getting stronger and stronger is the key imho. Without him on the road, we are a great player short and down our team leader. With him and how the team has really been coming together I like our chances.
Lets go get two win's and get back home and beat a good SIU team which we can do.
Go Aces !

I am opposite the UE bench in lower part of Section 118 and it is a great area to sit as everyone is pretty vocal. Also, quite a few of the fans in our section are under 40 -- so that is good to see.

I’m supposed to be in 108, but I’ve been sitting in the first few rows at half court behind the away teams bench the last few games since the front rows are always empty over there. You can very clearly where the season ticket price drops $200 because the rows will be packed from that point up. I think they should reevaluate having the first 10 or so rows priced so much higher. There’s clearly not a huge interest in them at that price point and you’re pricing out your loyal fans and creating a worse environment by having them further away from the court. Im no AD but that’s just my 2 cents. You’re also never going to sell walk up tickets for $50 a seat like they’re priced for that section.

I love this team. They won't win it in St Louis, but they just may spoil some teams night. The only thing I'd like to see is more minutes for our future, CBIII and Hughs, less for Thomas and Toumi. And as far as I'm concerned Cuff can play 40.

I’m very happy with this team and coaches, we are way ahead of schedule. You don’t seem to understand the state of the program that Ragland inherited and was hired so late his first year had no opportunity to put together much of a team. Ragland and coaches were able to find Humrichous and Cuff this year which shows they know how to find players. They seem to understand what they are doing and are changing the culture of a program that was at the bottom of the barrel. This team may end up winning as many or more games than we have won since 2017-2018 if they can squeak out a couple more. A couple of balls bouncing our way the past 2 games and we would have 17 wins which is what we had in 2017-2018. I’m very proud of the Aces and staff. They play hard, they run a clean program and we are drastically improved. Pretend like it’s the 4th Thursday in November and be thankful.

I can say specifically the reason UE lost this game -- Wright could have bounced one off the rafters and it would have gone in for 3 points.

Serious questions here ... was the clock supposed to stop after Ben made the Aces last shot? I thought it was supposed to keep going unless a TO was called. And how can the refs use a stop watch and accurately decide that Drake's shot was good within a tenth of a second? Also, if the clock stopped after Ben's made shot, and it showed .6 on the clock at the end of Drake's desperation shot, then why didn't we get the same opportunity for a last shot?
Certainly was impressed by how well the Aces played tonight! Sure seemed like Drake got by with a lot of hand checks and fouling, while we were called for some tick tacky fouls. That 6-point play on the foul, technical, and Drake possession really hurt in the first half. Also, the non call on the Drake player charging/knocking Bobe to the floor was irritating to see.
