UIC fans are pretty down on their team right now: We've been there for sure.

The +/- stats are pretty revealing of what players had the biggest impact on the game. Player | +/- | Minutes | Ben | +22 | 17 | Tanner | +17 | 27 | Kenny | +16 | 29 | Chuck | +16 | 26 | Cam | +13 | 17 | Gage | +4 | 23 | Antonio | +1 | 14 | Josh | -1 | 17 | Yacine | -3 | 31 |
Notes: Not surprising that Ben and Tanner are our most efficient players on widening our lead when they are on the floor. Surprising that Yacine was so low but the turnovers and missed free throws probably brought him down and likely played a lot when Ben was not on the floor. Gage's numbers probably went up when he made those four free throws on the technical and foul. Chuck, Kenny and Cam a little surprising as they were a little quiet. An off game for Josh tonight. Plus−minus (+/−, ±, plus/minus) is a sports statistic used to measure a player's impact, represented by the difference between their team's total scoring versus their opponent's when the player is in the game.

I enjoyed a good win in person! And had a chance to chat with Prez P after the game. We are definitely a different team with Ben. It was tied at 45 and he went in the game. A couple minutes later we were up 8 - and he had not scored. We need his scoring for sure, but defenses have to respect him and he opens things up for others. And we need his defense as well. I am hopeful that with him back we can be competitive and get a win or two besides IL State, Valpo and UIC.

I cannot remember the last time UE had a winning streak in Valley play. You hit the nail on the head with Ben. Even when he is not scoring, he is helping the offense. UE was able to get to the rim a little easier with Big Ben on the floor because you cannot leave him open. Teams cannot pack it in and help off of him, which I saw a lot when he was out. UIC was quite physical with Ben, on and away from the ball, and he still managed to score 15 points in 17 minutes. He is the heartbeat of this team. Cuff was also excellent tonight. Chuck could learn a thing or two from watching Cuff's poise and execution. Toumi finished around the rim well again tonight. I just wish he would cut down on the turnovers. A win Saturday at Valpo would put me in a really good mood.

Ben, Tanner and Yacine had really good games for us tonight. We are a different team with Ben on the floor at both ends and especially on the offensive end. Our flow, passing and looks are just much better with him in the game. He can stretch the defense and shoot over any zone thrown at us. I think Tanner continues to be more patient, realizes when the double is coming and looks for the open man. When the double comes our other guys have to cut to the open spot and not stand and watch. Yacine continues to get better and at both ends.
We have some really tough games coming up after the Valpo game which will be a challenge to of it's own. At home vs Braves, Drake and Trees are really tough and we need a 100% healthy Ben to have any shot at any of those games. On the road at SIU and Belmont are going to be a challenge as well.
Go Aces !

Great to have Ben back!
Cuff is one of the best - should be starting - makes everyone around him better, and his offense is getting better and better.
Bailley should start. Why? Because when he finally gets in he is too impatient, tries too hard, needs to feel a part of the game early.
Someone please teach Toumi how to shoot a free throw - he could add so much to our score. Is it possible for someone to "practice" his way to improvement?
The right players in at the right time and we could really have a competitive team - I feel like our biggest problem is the choice of players and too much subbing which breaks up the flow of the game. We're pretty good when we get things going, play faster, pass more accurately, and put guys in place to score.
Winning feels good to us fans, Just think how a team firing on all cylinders makes our team feel! Confidence and energy go a long way on success on both ends of the floor.
Go ACES!
