Lady Aces fall to Indiana 109-56. Until this program gets stronger, I am not sure there is much benefit from taking 53 point beatdowns from B1G teams.

Yeah, I am not real sure how buy games work on the women's side, but I did see the attendance was over 8K, so there was some revenue generated.

Mid-majors can play the top 50 teams in the country 300 times, lose all 300, never come closer than 30 points and the people who run NCAA women's basketball won't give a screaming hairy laugh about it. It is never going to change. There are distinct internal and perennial levels in women's ball that nothing can change. If I am UE women, I go to IU, play in the Assembly Hall, get a nice lunch, meet nice people, take the experience and call it even.
The people at UConn, ND, So. Carolina, Iowa, Stanford, Baylor, Duke ........... LSU .......... pffffffffffffft, it's a practice game for them.

Agree with you, but wonder over the next few decades if the skill level of the mid-level players will eventually come closer to matching that of the top players. I can remember when the men's NCAA tourney expanded in the 1980s and a #1 vs #16 / #2 vs #15 game was always a blowout. But with the skill level increases in mid-level players (due to greater exposure to travel ball, camps, etc.), that is not the case anymore.

Great disparity in training for the women but the AAU game is picking up. The problem is, the big 50 are willing to throw full schollies at players and stash them on the bench for 4 years. The women are getting their degree, which they were going for in the first place, and get the chance to be part of a well-oiled game. There's no pro game after college for 99.999999999 pct of the women. I know a girl up this way who was willing to be the 16th player on the UConn bench because of the prestige of being recruited by them. She'd have done wonders for most Valley schools. Most of the men aren't willing to be bench fodder unless they're walkons. You refer to "decades," as in ... what, 40 years?
