Well, what can you say about a take-down loss like that! BYU put on quite a 3-point show. We couldn't hit the side of a barn - probably because we had the wrong guys shooting 3's. We also had a couple of guys who need to realize they aren't exactly where they they think they are offensively - all the team needs a LOT more work on their shooting skills. We will need improvement in our own conference, let alone big-time non-conference foes. It's just 1 game, and it's history...so let's practice, improve, and move on. I like our in-the- paint scoring, but I sure do hope we develop some (and many) great 3-point marksmen! Evidently BYU was not nearly this explosive offensively last year, but worked hard on their shooting skills...and look what that hard work brought them! I believe the ACES need to develop the 3-point shooting to add to their under-the-basket scoring. 3's raining down are just devastating to the opposing team. We sure found that out last night!
GO, ACES...right on down to the practice floor...let's get a lot better, and just keep getting better all year!

With a a long layoff till our next game (December 16th at Bellarmine), we have a while to recover from this. Hopefully we get our mojo back in our next three games (with two OVC teams) before Cincinnati and conference play. I don’t like this scheduling. 11 days off before Bellarmine and then two more games only two days apart and 9 days off before Cincinnati. Gotta have some sort of break for finals and Christmas.

Don't understand BYU coach playing a lot of starters till about 3 minutes left. I guess he was making a point. He will get that smile wiped off his face several times this year. They live and they will die shooting so many 3's. The cold wind will blow on them also. We did not play well. Only thing to do is to hopefully learn from it and grow and move on. Planing to go to Cincy to watch game in person.Would be nice to play well there. Bailey needs to clean up his attitude. He gets mad and turns into a thug. He leads the team in playing badly last night. Recover Aces many games to play.

The fact that the NCAA incentivized running up the score for the NET ranking is why you will continue to see teams play “classless” basketball and attempt to run it up every game. My hope is that we win our next three games by 100 points combined just to make a point.
Hell, if the what is good for the P-5/6 schools is surely good enough for the upper middies too.

They need to drastically adjust the system. The current system provides no incentives to play games that challenge your team. The lack of P5 teams playing road games in the non con is a direct result of this. The longer they let this go on the more P5 v sub 200 team blowouts we’ll see. I’m not sure how they fix it, but they should definitely cap the margin of victory impact to where an 15 point win is the same as a 50 imo, and they need to more highly weight SOS factor and road game victories. Probably not the perfect solution but it would at least incentivize going on the road v Mid majors instead of just scheduling cupcakes at home for blowouts.

Even being on the road, hopefully we are not considered a "cupcake" game. Obviously the score said something different at BYU -- I guess it will take some time before the label wears off.

Hate to say it, but considering our preseason ranking in the 300s in almost all metrics, we were definitely scheduled as a cupcake game. No one that scheduled us was expecting us to be a respectable team that could challenge them this year. I’m sure we will be viewed differently next year and it hopefully leads to some better games, but that’s just the reality of our situation after last season.
