Nobody asked me but walking right past a Sat-Sun to play on a Monday night ... I guess there were too many leaves to rake, huh? I was just getting ready to ask you. Waiting until Monday eliminated one weekend of competing with college football and the NFL for attention. Saturday could have been Game 7 of the World Series, adding one more diversion. Nationwide sports focus now turns to college basketball. The season always begins on an early weekday. It's a sensible decision and nothing new. I'm more concerned about people who rake leaves, stripping their land of free nutrients and then replacing them with expensive poisons. I'm even more concerned about anyone who would be raking in the dark instead of seeing the Aces strip feathers off of Redhawks.

Here at HQ, we march to our own drummer, but your point about the World Series is keen and insightful. I usually give up on baseball when the pumpkin begins to shrivel. But as things are going, the NFL seems to want Thursdays, Sundays, Mondays and now the 11 a.m. hour thanks to Germany. I suspect the Tuesday afternoon time slot will fit Fan Duels well enough to add another game to the 16-game 17-game 18-game season. The hockey tournament didn't actually ever end from last year, but at least I have jai-lai. People who jai-lai also doo-wop and there's nothing more sensual than doing a frug to a Lawnmaster garden rake. Attach a military-approved LED bulb to your forehead and rake like lightning, crash like thunder.

A brilliant and unexplainably popular man once said that the 800 million acres of U.S. forests need to be raked yearly to prevent wildfires, so there is a place for dedicated rakers. But not here in Evansville Our forests were cut down over a century ago to make horse-drawn carriages. Rake sales have been down ever since. It's all Aces tonight. Dippin' Dot sales will be through the roof. I'll be buying popcorn from the Boom Squad people and then rinsing the salt off in the restroom like always. The Redhawk fans are excited by their young recruits and like the direction of the team is going under Coach Travis Steele. That excitement will be under stress at around 9pm this evening. I could have moved 3 miles east and gotten an address with my uncle, who was on an Oxford rural route (before Zip codes). But I still would have needed a car that I couldn't afford. So I skipped college for a year and finally decided to get the f---- out of Franklin County. I enrolled at Evansville. Always have had a soft spot for Miami, but really only for football. Evansville football -- there's a topic for people who lean on their lawn rakes and reminisce about the days when people took better care of Yellowstone. Raglands 58, Steeles 55.

It was a Big "Mac" weekend at the Ford. Hockey vs the Macon Mayhem on Fri/Sat and a Toby Mac concert on Sunday.
I know this is the opportunity for me to complain about the Ford again...but then again I don't have the $50mil+ to donate for a better facility that fits UE athletics.

While I never went to Miami, I have been there quite a bit over the years, both for work..and as a 19 year old college student when the Ohio drinking age was 19. I always thought Oxford was the perfect college town, especially in the fall. If traveling between Richmond and Cincinnati, I usually make time to stop, grab dinner or lunch and walk around downtown for a bit. With that, I hope they have a miserable experience in the Ford tonight.

Of course, nothing will compare to the Rami one. Like I have said before, I would use it with an updated theme every year. Even the Miami board is mentioning Rami is an UE grad.

A couple of snippets from the Miami of Ohio message board game thread (which I posted in the opening post for this thread):

A couple of snippets from the Miami of Ohio message board game thread (which I posted in the opening post for this thread): It is probably worth reminding them that fan forums tend toward "surprisingly confident," but it seems that the Miami fan board is keenly analytical in discussing the team's preferred lineup, as well as observing outside attitudes.

"Surprisingly confident" -- I could understand that comment if we were playing a P5 school, but coming from Miami OH is funny.

I’d say they’re “surprisingly confident” for a team that lost their two best players in the last week and lost the game against UE last season. They’ve got some good freshman coming in, but it’s a big ask for them to step up in game one of their college career on the road with one week to prep as starters imo.

The MAC has positioned itself nicely to be a farm system for the B1G, but they have as much hope as the Valley does. All that being the case, making a "confident" prediction on the outcome of the first game of the season -- I'd say it's based on that rollover win the Aces got over Wabash.
