Zach Edey is unreal. Wow, imagine that guy with this Aces team? Closest we had was Sascha Hupmann (Hoop-Man)..one of the best basketball names of the Aces all time if not the greatest. He gave us all he could and got better each season. He led us into the NCAA Tournament and I enjoyed watching him in person many times. I believe he was over 7 feet 2 inches if not bigger. The last was when we faced #3 seed Florida State in the NCAA Tournament..and on THEIR HOME FLOOR ! Talk about a hose job:( I remember how upset Jim Crews was not only that we were as low as a #14 seed but that we had to play a #3 seed on THEIR COURT. What a joke. We were up 7-0 after a Hoop-Man dunk, then it was all down hill. I believe we lost by 12 points and they had one or more guys go to the NBA. The other thing I remember is how rude the ushers were.. several of us Aces fans who made the trip were up in the nose bleeds and the place was more than half empty as they are more into football down there than basketball, obviously. They would not allow any of us to move down closer to the court. What a shame !! RIP Hoop-Man. Here is the box for that game. www.sports-reference.com/cbb/boxscores/1993-03-18-evansville.html

I knew I was in Florida, seemed like a home game for them, correct state, wrong city. Thanks for the more accurate info

USI most likely will be buried alive in this one but for the first few minutes, they had a lead on Duke. There are some moments that are forever.

Must have been difficult for the refs to reconcile calling those 2 fouls on Duke the first half.

USI had a 34-31 lead at the half but ran out of gas, losing 80-62. 18 point loss in your second year in D-1 is nothing to be ashamed about. It's a hell of a lot closer than Marty was able to do. Good grief, I still have flashbacks from that blowout.

Not sure why that is, other than they are seeing who should get the minutes when the money is on the line. USI would only have enough depth to play 25 minutes or so against Duke and that's what happened. Duke had 2 fouls at halftime, as if they needed the help.

BYU beat NC State to win their MTE & improve to 6-0. Kenpom has them at #9 currently in their metrics. They’re ranked 28th in the AP top 25 poll (#3 in recurving votes list), and they only have one game before we visit them (Fresno State on 12/1). It’s shaping up like we will likely be going on the road to play a top 25 opponent when we travel to Provo next month. I didn’t think much when this game was scheduled but it is shaping up to be a chance for a signature win that could gain some national attention.

Beating a top 25 team on the road may be too much to “ask” for but should be a great test for us win or lose.
