Looks like he’s Teammates with Nic Book on the New Zealand national team. Would be nice to land both. Has offers from UC riverside and UC Santa Barbara. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSqh398_ox4

Added us to his offers list on instagram. Hope we can land him. Definitely seems like the kind of guard Rags likes

Nic Book reposted his commitment on instagram. Could one commitment turn into a second?

Great pick up. Point guard should be solid for years to come after this year.

Kaia may be the most important point guard addition to the Aces in quite a while.
I watched Don Buse in HS and then at UE before moving to the Pros. I see a lot in Kaia that was present in Buse. Kaia has the size and if he develops the skills he will be an excellent MVC guard. I’m already drooling seeing him on the floor with CB3 running the guard play.

Population-wise, being the 2nd highest ranked point guard in New Zealand would be like being the 2nd ranked in Minnesota. That's not bad but we don't know yet if he is much more than that. The video looks good and he has some skills, but he was playing against a soft defense. New Zealand places rugby, netball and cricket over basketball so the sport may not generate the same intensity that it does here. But, they have sent several to the NBA. It would be nice to add to that. Just don't book your Final Four rooms yet.

My first takeaway here is that UE has proven it can at least reach outside the U.S. for athletes, even if they are just interested in being in SW Indiana until the paint dries. Having seen some of the good players on Valley rosters in recent years, many of them are foreign-born, even if they stopped off at Gold-Star Academy to work on their English and money management skills. Looking back at the Aces, we had Giddy and Mislav, and if we could get that sort of talent again, that would be just ducky. (Am I allowed to refer to domestic waterfowl in a thread now?)
