This is unquantifiable but Sherr-Wells has proven to be a strong and active recruiter, which brings in nice players. I am somewhat unimpressed with her coaching, however. There are games the Aces could have won that they didn't and their late-season collapse was unwieldy. I know there were injury issues, so there's that for a reason. That all part of it, I think the two Iowa schools are still a mile ahead of the rest of the conference and that isn't changing. Illinois State was far ahead of UE in talent and depth. Until they can compete half the time or better in the Valley, they have a hill to climb. Despite all that, this is a fun team to watch and is light years better than anything Ruffing ever imagined. It is hard to believe how low he dragged this operation. I also like that the international players find UE to be appealing. That speaks well of the university as well as the coaching staff.

Agree with your comments ATP.
With losing 4 key players, I am not expecting the Win total to look any better, but want to see some potential on the floor. That includes players showing a little bit more control when they drive to the basket. I am not sold on the "semi" full court pressure. It worked occasionally, but tired out players which caused breakdowns in our half-court defense. Per Anthony's column, RSW had this comment, “I think we’ll be a better pressing team than we were. I’m really excited about what we’ve seen so far.”
Overall I remain optimistic and happy that RSW got the extension. These are all her players now. With hype from Logan Belz and all the great exposure women's basketball had last season, will game attendance grow?

I think the in game coaching has suffered from the drop off in talent between starters and bench players. That leads to starters playing too many minutes, fouling more when tired, and shooting deficiencies. Better overall talent going 13 players deep should solve some coaching problems.
