College pitchers throwing 97 mph regularly now. What's the next threshold? 88 for Little League? LSU might have the edge. Really good call here: “LSU might have the edge” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 They lost 24-4 today…

I still like LSU with the "edge" for Monday. Lucky for me, I don't handicap national championship games that include 20 players who will be drafted -- three of whom are in the top three.

One assumes that the people who have the most invested in Skenes after today -- probably the Pirates or Nationals -- are apprehensive about them pitching him in such leverage.

This NIL stuff might change the balance NEXT season. It's obvious the SEC programs can afford to put NIL options out for their top players. In that respect, the NCAA has become a rumble among the top 8 SEC and top 4 or 5 ACC teams. The outliers from Stanford, or Coastal Carolina will still do all right. The idea that there are No. 4 starters on some of these teams throwing 98 in the shade, even if they have a high walk rate -- if you can play, and they can pay -- you are going to LSU or Florida. All that aside, we don't have to win anything to be worth the effort. The Aces held their own against everybody they played this year. That's what it's about. But if somebody in the Evansville area wants to boost the program, NIL is how to do it now. The most fun part was seeing players now who will someday maybe be in the Hall of Fame. Who is to argue with that?
