I'd say Shally is getting away with those antics because college players all do that. Once he hits the pros and dances at 2nd base, he's gonna hear leather buzzing his tower. That, he will learn. But he's worth at least 2 runs a game for this offense. It shoves Borgstrom to the DH, which is probably not an upgrade on defense.
The pitching is better 1-2-3 than most teams they face. The lefties Denu and Schultz are wobbly at times, terrific at other times. Blunt, Parks, Hardman, Harris and Meyer is a really deep bullpen. Of course, all are prone to wildness. That's youth, not lack of talent. I'd keep an eye on Schultz's improvement. There's a lot to like with him.
Hord is OK behind the plate but needs to hit lower in the order. See, how I fixed this.
Chase Hug is going to be drafted, and Scherry will get drafted as well. Roberts can play some minor league ball but the aluminum bat tells a lot of lies. Hug sees the ball well, and his OB numbers are really outstanding. He's not very big, which might hurt him and as a lefty, he is limited in his positional options. Still, Hug is a hitter. That's hard to teach. These guys put the ball in play, which always matters. A 25 pct. K rate is very acceptable now.
This might be the best UE team we see in some time, although recruiting college players has become an art form.

I am assuming rain in Itchycoo Park. Does this mean twice is nice on Sunday?
Whoa ... another thunderbolt!

Playing in Carbondale. The volleyball team is getting some sun and the Aces are up against a real good lefty. Lefties are not what the Aces want to face.

Not as much fun today in a rain delayed game. Loser 6-3. Denu takes the loss. Roberts 3 hits including his 15th dinger, which might be closing in on some kind of team record. Hug is still OPSing at 1.14, Scherry at .841. Lefties are tough on this team with 5 major lefty hitters in the lineup.

Didn't get a chance to see the whole game today but it appears Schultz made me look good in claiming there's a lot to like. The Fleabags have a very good baseball team, and they usually do. It's SIU, probably the Sickos and then the Aces for the top three rungs in the Valley ladder. Gotta take care of the games at home, play .500 on the road -- so far, that's working. Losing 3-2 on a walkoff, tough way to drop a series. Hang in there.
