We haven’t offered. I don’t think either one of our staffs has tried to recruit him as far as I’m aware. He’s signed with Valpo, but I’m guessing that might change pending their hire.
Anybody from Indy seen him play? He was Marion county player of the year and just had one hell of a game against the best 2024 center in the country, Flory Bidunga, to win a state title. I would think this would be a guy you’d want to pursue, but neither of our staffs have been interested for some reason.

I didn’t watch the game but a friend of mine text me that he looked like the better player for most of the night.

I saw a list of about 6 or 7 coaches that were present at the game, but no UE coach was mentioned. Do we know if anyone from our coaching staff was at the game?

Didn’t see anyone post on social media that they were. If we were, we didn’t get courtside seats like all the P6 coaches did. Only midmajor Coach I saw sitting courtside was Mike Lewis. I’m sure him being an IU legend helped get those seats a lot more than being HC of Ball State did. I did see a Valpo fan post on twitter that one of their assistants was there to watch Ben, and they obviously weren’t sitting courtside either, so it’s possible our staff was present. We aren’t actively recruiting anyone playing in any of the games, so I could see why we didn’t attend, but I think it’s probly good recruiting practice to have a coach present at that game every year. There are always talented players playing in Indy that day, and it wouldn’t hurt to keep in touch with players like Joey Hart that we were close on but committed elsewhere.

Woodson was there with all 3 assistant coaches.

I’d like to see us have a presence, but I’m guessing the staff thought they were better served spending their Saturday evaluating guys in the portal and making contact with recruits instead of watching guys you’re not actively recruiting play.

Ragland still has Butler connections, I assume. He could have sent anyone he trusts to the games as an unofficial representative. He's already been quoted as having to depend on that sort of help. It may extend in a lot of directions. I doubt UE is overlooking the IHSAA state tournament.

Committed to Ball State. Surprised we didn’t make a stronger push for him
