We are getting plummeted again. Down 53-33 heading into the half. Both teams have similar records but SIU has a couple more conference wins. So on paper this is a winnable but tough game on the road.
However, Abby Feit is out again and this team doesn’t seem to be able to weather one of their key players out like Anna, Abby or Myia.

This team is coasting through the rest of the season and it's clear they require on-court leadership.

Going to be interesting to see what the off season brings us via the portal. Right now the most promising player I see for the future is Kynidi and hopefully Abby decides to come back. The 2 recruits from Wisconsin both average over 10 boards a game (much needed) and the Australian girl is supposedly lights out from 3 pt land. After a few transfer out, we might have 2-3 open scholarships to get someone from the portal.

I think Tomancova is an asset but she's pretty streaky and tends to have a bit of a temper. I think Feit might try for a 5th year. It's not hard to recruit the mid-range players but experience is everything in women's ball. The better teams have bulk and 2-3 years of game behind them. UE needs to sustain the course. They will catch up. Losing games like they did on Saturday is the product of fatigue, mentally. I don't think we have a gauge on how the Portal plays in women's ball.

Abby or not, there is no excuse to get a 46 point spanking from a team exactly one spot ahead of you in the conference standings. I don't watch them as close as the men, but something really seems off this last month or so. Does anyone know the story on why Kara Carlson abruptly left before the season? Seemed like she was the most engaged assistant during games last year and she appeared to have been the main point person in recruiting.

I too only occasionally follow the Lady team; but what I can tell (from a distance) the last month is that the games that they have not had all of their key players, they have struggled. Anna, Abby and Myia have all missed games recently. They don't seem to have the depth to overcome one of their key players being out. But I'm sure others who follow it closer will have more insight.

She hasn't even been on the bench.

I am aware she took the USI job. I hope it's a career move she wanted. The timing of it being a few weeks from the season just seemed odd. It also seems if this was strictly a positive career move, there would have been the congratulatory tweets and press releases from UE and particularly RSW, not crickets.

What's up with Kincer? She hasn't even been on the bench. No idea. Probably red-shirting. I just assumed she was a redshirt, along with the girl from Spain, Irene Pacios. Kincer's bio says she played very little her final year in high school due to an ankle injury, so she must of showed some good skills her junior year.

If I had to evaluate what I've seen the last month, and I've watched as many games as I can. This team has hit the wall. The blowouts have been pretty excessive and losing to Valpo was just a matter of being outplayed. I don't know how much the missing players mattered. Not having an all-conference scoring threat would probably matter, and the team that needs that sort of leadership could easily unravel. These are not professionals. To that end, some of these players are finally learning what it's like to play a competitive 30 games instead of one every so often like they do in high school. So why isn't the other team affected? Some of them are. Some of the teams the Aces play are frankly just better. All that combined, and an 8-point loss can turn into a 20-point loss. That is what has happened.

I said before that it was risky using a scholarship on her and I still feel that way. I hope it works out.
