Kyle pitched three innings of middle relief yesterday in USA’s 6-2 win in the World Baseball Classic. He pitched the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings throwing 29 pitches (23 for strikes), striking out three, 0 walks, allowed two hits and one run. A pretty solid performance from the UE alumni on the world stage. Box score: www.espn.com/world-baseball-classic/boxscore/_/gameId/401500652

That lineup, Freeland can underhand them up there.

I see where Kyle has landed on the 15-day disabled list with a subluxation (dislocation) of his non-throwing shoulder. He hurt it on Sunday in his last start before the all-star game diving for a ball. There was some question whether he would have to have surgery before they placed him on the 15-day DL. Kyle has been Colorado’s workhorse this season pitching more innings than any other player on the team. Pitching half his games in the hitter’s friendly confines of Coors Field, he is 4-10 with an ERA of 4.72 in 103 innings pitched. www.mlb.com/rockies/video/kyle-freeland-going-on-15-day-il

The Rockies don't have any luck as it is and a Freeland trade -- with him on the shoulder repair list -- organizationally painful. Even if it's his non-throwing shoulder, nobody is gonna let him do baseball activity for at least 2 months. I'd expect to see him on the 60-day after the MRIs come back.
