First of the Matt Hattman conference predictions released today. Computers still have us as the favorite to finish last, but my eyes tell me we can finish better than Valpo and ISU. I’m guessing our terrible offensive performances of the last week have skewed the numbers against us. Hopefully that will get resolved by January. I still like us to steal a few and finish 10th or so.

Out of 100,000 simulations, we win the league 2 times. So he’s saying that there’s a chance…

All that's fine and dandy but of course it cannot factor in intangibles of injuries, ineligibilities, McCarty-esque scandal fiascos. A rash of key injuries could send any team to the cellar. It's funny and sad at the same time that we're hoping for a 10th place finish in a formerly 10 team league.

Latest seeding projection. Seems like we’re likely to face Mo State or Belmont, wherever we finish.
Really hope we can win our final two (UIC, @illinois State) and sneak into the 11 seed. I like our chances if we can get Mo State on Thursday night. Otherwise, our season will probly end before most of us even get off work if we are in the 5-12 slot against ISU or Belmont.

Wouldn't it shock the entire country if they somehow pulled off the championship?
Ha ha, not going to happen. But wow, I couldn't imagine how much publicity the program would receive in that scenario.

Couteau, Do you still have us going to the Final Four? 😀 Love your enthusiasm and optimism.

So if we beat UIC is that enough to move to the 11 seed? Will have to look at it closer later.

The MVC changed the tiebreaker rules this year. Before it was head to head and then NET (RPI before NET was introduced). Now it's head to head, best MVC win, then NET.

That’s huge. I thought we needed to win 2 more to finish in 11th. In my opinion, we don’t stand a chance in a 12 v 5 matchup because 5 will be either SIU, ISU, or Belmont. But I think we could stand a chance if we play well against Mo state or Murray in the 11 v 6. Would love to draw UNI in the 11-6 but I don’t think that’s likely given their schedule.

UIC beat Valpo this afternoon, 74-73. Belmont got smashed by Drake today.
UE would need to beat both UIC and Illinois State, and hope that SIU beats UIC in order for UE to get the 11 seed.
Sure looks like Belmont will be our Arch Madness opponent.

With Belmont's one point win over Indiana State tonight, it now appears that 12th seed UE will play Indiana State in Arch Madness.

With Belmont's one point win over Indiana State tonight, it now appears that 12th seed UE will play Indiana State in Arch Madness. Not a great matchup for us as we lost each game to them by 28 points. We allowed them to score 91 and 83 points against us. Kenny played good offensively in both games with 19 and 17 points; Toumi had one bad game and one pretty good game; Marvin had one good (double/double) game and one subpar game. Gage had two bad games (a total of eight points, one rebound and one assist in 61 minutes). We have our work cut out for us in the tournament.
