So, does he have two years eligibility? Looks like he redshirted in 2018-2019. Then played at a community college and then two years at Alabama State (one was the Covid year). His stats by yearHis community college stats were 15.5 ppg and 5.5 rbg and 1.5 apg.

Anybody know if he’ll be eligible immediately? He’s already transferred multiple times, but I think those were before the immediate eligibility went in to place, so I would think he could use his 1 time free transfer for us?

Not the highest shooting percentage, but appears like a good player if taken under the wing of a good teaching coach. This coaching staff seems more able to better recruit than the coach Lickluster ever could. On paper, not a home run recruit yet, but you have to walk before you run.

Don’t know about the eligibility, but this guy looks like he can play right away. He has size, versatility, and he’s suited up against some good competition. Al St. played Vandy, Tx Tech, Iowa, Mo. St., Pepperdine, Dayton last year, all on the road. Mo Williams was let go in March and replaced as Al. St. Coach by Tony Madlock. (NCAAM rule about transfer when a coach leaves?)
He Ave. 30 min. Per game, and it’s unlikely he’d be here without a good assessment from coach Rags. With some time already at JUCO, Al. St., he’ll bring some experience to the team. With his 10/5/2 averages, he’s a good bet to see a lot of playing time for UE.
Great pick up. Go Aces!!

Good point NCAce. With how lenient the NCAA is with waivers these days, I would think he would qualify due to the coaching change if he has already exhausted the immediate eligibility transfer.

So he was recruited out of HS to play for former Ace Kareem Richardson at Mo-KC. Redshirted there, played 1 year at Western Nebraska CC, then 2 years at AL St.

I just read a Twitter post that stated he entered the transfer portal on March 6. Kenny also posted his certificate from the National Honor Society so I would assume he will be eligible next fall.
Looking at his videos he can finish at the rim. At 6-6 he shows an ability to post up smaller guards which will be a welcome at UE. He was an all-stater in Illinois and averaged over 26 ppg as a senior. UE coaches should get a lot out of him.

I'm guessing but I don't think Rags would use a scholarship on somebody who wasn't immediately eligible. He is still filling this year's roster.

Considering the recent addition of Spinelli and Toumi, it looked like the roster only lacked some 6-6 to 6-7 guy to pair with Antoine at the small forward (3) spot. Adding Strawbridge into the mix now gives us nice balance and depth at all positions! It will be interesting to see what happens with the final roster spot.

I don't know anything other than what's on this thread, but I like the highlight reel, and NCACE makes me like him even more. Back in March, when it wasn't clear if we'd be fielding a team this year, I would've taken any 10/5/2 D-I player in a heartbeat. And his minutes and schedule make those numbers look even better to me: - 30 mpg? ...probably his team's best player.
- Against Tech, B10, Mo. St., etc.? ...definitely faced legit defense.
Again, I don't know anything about him or AL State's team, but I remember what it was like for Cunliffe when Deandre went down: a best player on a weak team has a tough road ahead. 10/5/2 isn't nothing if Tech spent its week scouting you.

Look at the MVC next year. Almost every team has a big rebuild: UNI loses Green. ISUb loses Key and others, MO. St. and ISUr a big rebuild. Drake, Bradley, and SIU not so much change.
Having passed the recruiting stage, it’s now going to be interesting to see the coaching skills of Rags, Snow, and Marcus. These are men who have led exemplary lives and inspire trust. Their success in the game, as players, will also demand dedication and 100% effort from the team.
We may not win the MVC, but this is a team of guys with something to prove, whether they are coaches, true freshmen or transfers. IMHO, we will be a competitive team that will be a HUGE improvement over what we’ve seen in the past 3 yrs.
Strawbridge and Coleman have both played in tough environments. UNLV plays before big crowds at Utah St., N. Mexico, etc. Al. St. HAS to take road games against good P5 programs, just to fund the school’s athletics. Going to UNI, SIU, and Drake will not phase them, and while it may take a few non-con games to mesh a bit, this is a well-constructed team, especially with the timing of the AD and HC hires.
From where we were 3 months ago, this is a VERY good launching point.
