Anybody follow college baseball well enough to know if a series sweep of RPI Top 10 DBU will bump our RPI up enough to put us firmly in the at large bid conversation?

Tulane slipped out of RPI Quad 1, so that hurts us a bit, but if we take a series win this weekend it will give us a boost. SIU is nipping at our heels...would be great to get 3 MVC teams in.

Great start to the game tonight. Knocked out DBU's starting pitcher in the 2nd. 4-1 Aces... top of the 2nd.

We went from 72 to 63 in RPI following last nights win. If we manage a series sweep somehow, I would think that would put us in the low 50s/high 40s in RPI which I think would put us firmly in the at large conversation

Best take 'em one at a time, as DBU plays in Terre Haute next weekend. I'm curious to see how the "Boonville Beast" fares today on DBU "Senior Day," with the best MVC program in the past decade alums looking on. Hopefully, Smith will bring his "A-Game."

Is the College World Series invites like March Madness where conference tournament champ gets an automatic bid? Sounds like everybody is saying we only get in as an at-large.

Conference champion does NOT receive an auto-bid. The winner of the MVC Post-Season Tourney (held in Springfield, MO this yr.) is the ONLY auto-qualifier. At-large selection is the only other way to get in. That being said, the regular season championship STILL holds weight re: the at-large consideration if one were to lose in the post-season conf. tourney.

After losing 2 games in Texas, and the one that really hurts is losing to the Racers lastnight. The only way UE will make the tournament is to win the Conference Tournament.

A definite bummer that we have lost three in a row but keep in mind that Dallas Baptist was as high as #3 in the country in RPI and is currently #8 and we lost two of three to them. Also, Murray State is 29-22. So, this is not the end of the world. No matter how this season ends this has been a phenomenal run by these guys.

For those that don't know Texas A&M cancelled their game against Incarnate Word a couple of days ago as their manager was afraid it would hurt their RPI and seeding for the tournament - also SEC rival Arkansas had just lost to Missouri State. Here is one take on Texas A&M's actions: NCAA Must Address Texas A&M's Actions: No consequence for Aggies would set terrible precedent

Aggies should have been forced to play the game or forfeit.

The word canceling is used, but it sounds like a forfeit I wonder what the contract says
