This may be addressed elsewhere, but what happened with Newton? Injury? I really like how he's been playing lately.

Interesting...obviously Jawaun didn't leave for another conference. IMO our better players left because they didn't want another year with TL and his style of game . Now, will anyone say that publicly? Probably not, but I believe that the players just couldn't stomach another year in this dismal situation. How I hope our new AD is working behind the scene to find a new coach with a new plan.

Watch the video interview. It says a lot about a few players sentiments.

Watch the video interview. It says a lot about a few players sentiments. No one wants to play for a losing team, especially at end of career. Hoping we get a winning coach soon, so we can build a winning environment and attract and retain talent.

I hate the idea of players transferring in conference. That goes for any school. I didn't like hearing that Clay went from Valpo to MSU even though I had no vested interest. Other than Chris Mack to Xavier, which was at least his hometown, has it happened before with a former Ace? I'm likely forgetting someone. I wish conferences would make it difficult to do this.. I like Jawaun and wish him well except against us. Hope Shamar doesn't join him.

Covid and the portal changed that.

Transferring in conference makes it easier and easier to stack the top teams
…Another paper cut…

Transferring in conference makes it easier and easier to stack the top teams …Another paper cut… I can definitely see why 1 bid leagues quickly did away with the rules. Doesn’t make a lot of sense from the conference perspective to force your best players to another league just because they’re unhappy at their current school.

I don’t see why we should mandate where a kid can go to school. I take the free market approach on this one. He has the right to go where he wants to go to finish his education. That’s just my two cents.

Better do away with the Handshake lines… If inner conference transfers lead to more heated rivalries, I’m all for it lol

Did I fall asleep and completely miss when SIU remotely became a contender for the league this year? Highly doubtful Newton's one season is going to take them from a mediocre mid-pack level to the NCAA.
