There was a Don Buse thread here that contains all of this. I am posting it here for everyone who might not be looking there. Nicknames of the various schools. I know there was a Cynthiana Annas team up the road from someplace. There were township schools in a lot of towns all the way into the middle 60s. Bicknell had a team. There was an interesting school in Decker Chapel, not far from ... Decker. This is a link that takes you through tournament history. Tricky if you aren't careful since some schools, when they ceased to exist, became something else. So if you are looking for Rex Mundi in 1988, you need to know when they closed the place. If you go on the main Harrell site, it has a link to a team's tournament history. Caution: I have found mistakes in this, although not very many. indianahsbasketball.homestead.com/boys.htmlindianahsbasketball.homestead.com/tny/EvansvilleCentral.htm#loadedThis link has all the nicknames, alphabetical. online.fliphtml5.com/bumg/hobg/#p=4If you want football, there is this. The owner of the site says he has it only verified back to 1950, and little by little, will get past that. www.almanacsports.com/football/statechamps.phpThe collegiate stuff. I go to these links to help me with dates. www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/evansville/2022.html

Found a scathing commentary in the Cynthiana Argus from March 1920, the first year the Annas participated in the sectional. Lost a toughie to Poseyville 26-3 but the editor, realizing the sport had some future, was critical that the school/town hadn't provided much in the way of a practice area for the team. I did find that their top player was deemed ineligible for the tournament because he was over-aged. That likely mattered. The Annas lasted until 1959.
