Outscored the scrawny Birds 50-30 in the 2nd half to win at the Stadium. Attendance: 10,219. Not a bad start for the Aces in Valley play, but lost to Bradley in the conference tournament. No post-season. 11-7, 18-9 overall. Ill St. went 1-1 in the NIT. SIU lost to Syracuse in the NCAA.

Interestingly enough that team lost 9 games and 6 of those losses were either a one possession loss or a loss in OT. Probably one of the unluckiest teams in Evansville history. The only three games they didn't lose in that fashion were IU @ RCA dome, Tulsa at home, and Bradley in the conference tourney. Weird. www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/evansville/1995-schedule.html

We might get a home-and-home with a SWAC team, though, just to get that W-L record in balance. Attendance in the Dome on Dec. 3, 1994 24,017Andy Elkins had 30 of the UE points.

I think I still have a "Tour De Valley" towel from that Illinois State game around here somewhere. Funny, most of us that night were disappointed we had to go to the MVC. Looking down on the MVC and playing IU in front of 24K. Who says things never change around here?

Here is the game if anyone is interested. The game was actually a lot closer than the final score. Definitely much more enjoyable to watch back then that is for sure. This was before the Purple and Orange days - still wore purple and yellow.
