The late Gil Hodges, finally in the Hall of Fame, is a Hoosier. Born in 1924 in Princeton, Hodges played collegiately at St. Joseph's IN -- baseball and apparently, basketball. I can't provide any stats. His SJC years were 1942-43 before he left for the war. After that. he went on to a great career with Brooklyn. Managed the Miracle Mets in 1969. A couple of box scores with Hodges playing 3B for the Pumas in 1943. He later became the equivalent of a Gold Glove 1st baseman for the Dodgers (the award did not exist for him). Princeton paper of the time didn't do much with sports. This is from the Lafayette paper. The basketball box scores list a C. Hodges and a G. Hodges without anything else. "G Hodges" might be someone else. There is a Gil Hodges website. www.gilhodges.com/
