Ten years ago today, Saturday Feb. 26, 2011, the Aces closed out Roberts Stadium with a 73-67 win over Illinois State. There was a women's game the next week, but that was the final time the Aces men's team played in the stadium that was the scene of their greatest victories and housed so many great memories. Over 100 former players plus coaches Dick Walters and Jim Crews came back for one last time.

I attended that game. It was a great atmosphere that day. Like the good ole times.

It'll never be the same. There was something to those multi-colored satin boxing robes and cloud of Fendrich cigar smoke that hovered just below the half-court scoreboard! It was almost like a Clay-Liston fight...w/o Howard Cosell.

Too bad I can only like this post. 🤜🤛 gotta love the Clay-Liston reference. Here's to hoping we "shock the world" in St. Louis and next season.

I was at the final game, and recently found my long lost DVD they put together.
